Well it's been 2 months. Wow what a total lifestyle change. I never imagined how wonderful I would feel. I have alot more energy to do more things. My housework stays caught up, I don't mind getting out of the house and going places. I even enjoy shopping again. I was even able to buy a dress at the GAP this weekend. It was an XXL but who cares. We all know that a XXL at the GAP is smaller than a 2x at Lane Bryant or Avenue. I am wearing size 20's and 22's and never thought in a million years that I would be happy about that. I remember the first time I had to buy a 20. I was devastated so its ironic that I am so happy to wear that size now. I've lost 61 pounds in a little over two months which feels pretty amazing. I can't wait to see what the future holds for me. I'm looking forward to living life.
P.S. One of my goals was to jump on the trampoline with my kids. I am so close that I can "taste" it. The weight limit is 250 and I am currently 253 so I will be able to jump, by myself at least, pretty soon. I can't wait!
I'm doing ok since surgery, haven't had a lot of problems, although like I said in my previous post, chicken has decided to give me a hard time in the last couple of weeks. My weight loss has been slower than many, I'm down 30 pounds since surgery (plus the 22 I lost before surgery...for a total of 52 pounds lost since last year), but I am getting lots of comments on my weight loss now and am able to wear a size 18 (was a 22), so I'm just chugging along. I'm trying to increase my protein and exercise, been doing fairly well on both, but am going to try to increase them both even more. I can't believe that it's already been ten weeks since surgery.

I am doing well. Down about 30 lbs (slowly but surely). I lost 21 before surgrey, so down 51! I am doing well. I am getting in my protein and water every day. Not really tracking calories, but really trying to eat healthy. Last week, I started a program called "Nuvita" here at work. It's basically an exercise/nutrition program that focusses mainly on exercise. I am working out 5 days a week and feeling really good. I've gone from snug 24's to comfy 18s. 16's here I come!

I am going to Vegas in about 3 weeks. I am actually looking forward to the flight and walking around the town! My energy level has really increased. It's all very exciting!

Hello All -
I am feeling really good right now. My highest weight was the same as my surgery weight - 260. This morning I weighed in at 222. I'm down 38 lbs and am now wearing 18 bottoms and 16 tops comfortably. I am adjusting well to my new lifestyle - I joined Curves as soon as I was cleared for exercise ( I go 3 x a week), walk around the lake we live on (1.5 miles 3X a week) and my hubby just bought me the wii Active game a couple days ago. Before surgery I never would have been excited about the wii Active, but I love it - I only wish the leg strap was longer (my thighs are still grande! I am losing weight slower than most (you are not alone Melody!) but I am feeling better every day and staying the course. Can't wait to see what the next month brings!!

I'm starting to do better this past week. My appetite has gotten better and I'm tolerating some new foods. I hope that doesn't change! lol
As far as weight loss, I'm down 77lbs (57 since surgery). I've gone from size 28-30 to size 22-24. I had a lot of issues for a while there. My period came and never went, I was vomitting too much and I was dehydrated. So I haven't had a chance to enjoy my success yet. I hope it's beginning to look up now.
Yay you on your success!

I'm so glad I decided to check out this forum, it has been a while. I lost 21 before surgery and 30 since. I have lost steadily every week. I, like everyone else, wi**** would go faster but I guess I am right on target when I read what you all write. I have a hard time eating chicken and beef, anything dry. If I eat too fast or not chew enough I get the golf ball feeling and have to vomit. When I read about people eating sandwhiches and wraps I dont understand how they do it. I never feel hungry and I never feel full, I know by the clock when it is time to eat and I know Im full when my nose starts to run. I have gone from a tight size 20 to a tight size 14! I need clothes, but havent wanted to buy anything yet. I have gone to GoodWill and to 2nd hand shops but I have never had very good luck with that. I did buy a pair of jeans at Walmart and they are really cute. I need to get an exercise program going that I can commit to. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Dawn

Hi Dawn - First Congratulations!!!! A size 14 is fantastic! As far as an exercise program, what about joining your local Curves? I joined 4 weeks ago and I am enjoying it alot more than I thought I would. It is quick, social and great start as far as weight/resistance training.
Best of luck.

My surgery was March 5th. I'm down to 337, 59 lbs down since surgery, 89 since my highest of 426 on Dec 9th. I have gone from xxxl-xxxxl shirts to xxl shirts and have gone from 48" pants to 42" pants. It will be nice in a few months when I can get into xl shirts and 36" pants. My wife is loving it!

Glad to hear you are doing well. May was a big month for me. I achieved several of my goals-flew on a plan without that darn seatbelt extender (I even had to tighten the regular seatbelt!), went on my first shopping trip (down from a 24 to an 18), ran up the stairs to my surgeons third floor office without being out of breath! Wow- it really seems surreal. I am down 62 lbs(17lbs during the 2 week pre-ops diet). I had to get my CPAP machined turned down to a much lower pressure and the Dr. thinks I won't need it much longer. I lot of people are commenting on my weight and it makes me feel good, even though I do not like to get all this attention. The only thing that seems different for me is that I am just getting my energy back and my stamina is still not what it was pre-surgery. The surgeon keeps telling me to be patient! I guess we all are in the same boat there. I have done really well with food, but like most of the others dry chicken or ground me sends me running to the bathroom. It is just too darn dry. I do need to start trying a bigger variety of foods, but the nutritionist is very happy with my work. I have yet to try any kind of the evil sugar and don't plan to any time soon. I am so happy that all of us March patients have a place to talk to each other. Keep up the good work everyone!

My RNY was on March 23rd. I am doing very well and am super pleased with my 58 lbs loss. I haven't really had any problems to speak of. I have had a couple of dumping episodes due to sugar. As uncomfortable as it is, I am really glad that I dump. I think I would be in a world of trouble if I could eat sugar without any consequences! I am in a loose 18 down from a snug 22/24. I'm feeling so much better and have more energy. I went to a movie last night and just sat right down in the seat. My hips didn't scrape the sides or anything. It took me a minute to realize that I didn't have to wiggle my butt into the seat. Yay!
