Weight Loss
You're right about comparing ourselves. That's why I feel it's too slow, I'm comparing myself to others. Also you have to keep in mind the amount of weight you have to lose. I have more to lose than the OP which is probably why I lost more.
We all need to try not to compare ourselves, yet we're all guilty of doing it. So frustrating! But we're all in this together!

Yes, amount of weight to lose makes a difference, and it's daunting to think about how much we all have to lose and how long it will take when we lose at a certain rate, just remember that the "average" weight loss is 20 pounds the first month and 10 pounds a month thereafter, so if you're over 40 pounds lost before you're even at 3 months, you're above average. ;) Believe me, I've whined and moaned a lot, lol, I'm just trying to take a different approach now and just go with the flow ****il next Tuesday when I weigh again and then I might be frustrated for a day or so again, I need to make sure I blog between then and now, so I don't look like such a whiner, lol). ;) Just remember, you're doing great and keep it up!!
Someone asked me to contact my doctor. I did. Here's the reply from the nurse:
Average weight loss for GB is initially 4 lbs /week so you are on target. The more excess body weight someone has, they will loose more in the beginning. It will taper at different times since the body is smart and its trying to figure out what is going on with the new change. Glad to hear you are getting your protein, water, and exercise.
So, even though I am actually closer to 3.5 lbs/week, I guess I'm still close to "average" loss. I'm going to start weighing every week from now on and see how that goes.
Again, thanks everyone for your replies. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one out there dealing with this issue!

My surgeon told me a healthy weight loss post op is 20 lbs. the first month and 10 lbs for the next 5-6 months and then it'll possibly slow up to 5 lbs. a month. Just remember, it's all the BETTER for your skin!!! That's what I keep telling myself anyhow!!! Good luck and hang in there, atleast we "turtles" aren't gaining!!
