Disgusting topic....BM's

I have a question for everyone regarding BM's.  When I went yesterday, it came out almost black.  My bariatric center does have me on Foltrin (1 capsule, twice a day), which does contain a good dosage of iron.  Could this be causing the blackness?  I do plan on calling the bariatric center Monday morning and asking the PA about it, too, but I wanted to get some opinions before then.

I am a nurse and that is common for iron is black stools and like the last reply it does make you constipated, you should take a stool softner everyday. stool softners do not make you go it makes it easier to go.

Bob, Mine are almost black too, and yes it is from the iron. I am taking one chewable iron tablet every day.
