How are you feeling? How many days post op are you and what foods are you tolerating? Let's get some updates!

I had surgery on the 6th so I'm about 6 days post op now.  I've had some ups and downs with the pain, but today I'm feeling pretty good.  No other issues so far.

I'm on the full liquid stage right now.  Start pureed on Friday.  I haven't had any issues with food as of yet.  I'm having mostly beef or chicken broth and protein shakes.  I also am allowed cream of wheat so I've had that a couple times.  The sf chocolate pudding is pretty good too.

Looking forward to hearing how everyone else is doing!

My Laparoscopic RNY was on  Monday March 2, so I'm 10 days out and feeling 20 years younger!  My program starts Stage 3 foods before discharge from the hospital.  I had scrambled eggs for breakfast, tuna salad and fruit ****tail for lunch the day I went home  (Wed., Mar 4).  No one was more surprised than I was that I could actually eat it!
Since then there's been a little trouble with milk (gas) but I'm going to get some Lactase to take before eating yogurt or drinking milk.  Getting all my protein and fluids in was a challenge at first but I'm getting into more of a schedule now.

I've tried a couple of bites of scrambled eggs. I have to wait to have tuna until next week my doc said, but I'm looking forward to it!

Sugery was on 3/10/09 and I'm feeling okay.  Sore and tired, and major tightness in the shoulder and chest.    I got to start my pour-off-a-spoon, stage tonight, and I got 1oz of very thin mashed potatos.. and 1oz, of blended and thinned peaches..  It tasted very good, and I've been feeling tight and sore every since, but nothing more then that.     I blended up peaches and mandarin oranges, green beans and made up some mashed potatos to thin out..  Going to get some pudding and whatnot tomorrow..  Looking forward to things with more taste!

You're doing wonderfully for having surgery just 3 days ago. Good for you!

I am 10 days post op. I am doing pretty well. I can eat eggs really easily and I have had some soft cheese on a cracker and that was easily tolerated. I ventured too much since I am just on the soft food stage. my tummy really likes tomato soup.
I am down 10.5 pounds too. So excited about that.
I am getting stronger each day, but I am still very sore on my left side. I have my post op on the 25th of march with the surgeon.

Yes, the soreness lasted a while with me as well. I'm a stomach sleeper, so I purposely laid on my stomach little by little everynight and now I'm comfortable. Congrats on your weight loss! Be careful with the crackers! I'm sure it was mushy after you chewed it, but I'd hate to see it get stuck!

I had my RNY this past Monday and I can't believe how good I feel.  No soreness at all.  I was in pretty good physical shape before surgery so I am attributing it all to that.  Came home with a drain, and I'm not happy about that.  But I walk frequently and drink 2 oz of clear liquids (Isopure, water, and SF jello) every hour.  I can't get any more than that in without discomfort in my chest.
I am so glad I had this done!
