My date is 3/17, I found this out last friday!!! I am soooo excited, but now I am scared. Do you have to do the liquid diet for 2 weeks with just 1 meal a day?

Topic: New March 17 Person!
I was originally scheduled for May 7 - open RNY. I went to the doc yesterday for a weight check and they said I had lost so much that they were going to push the date up. I said OK figuring it would be the end of April. I got back to work and got a phone call saying my new date is March 17!!! Only 19 days away!! I am so excited yet so scared! What have I gotten myself into! I am totally at peace with the decision to have the surgery. I am fully educated and supported. But it just seems so soon! Is anyone else feeling this way? I got my May 7 date before Christmas so I have been living with it for a while - but it was always a ways out there that I didn't need to think hard about it. Hope to hear from everyone soon! Deb

Congrats! I felt bad at the beginning to go on the 6 month supervised diet, but now that I'm less than three weeks away, I don't feel bad at all! I'm glad I had the chance to learn everything I could about the procedure, and to prepare for it mentally. I was not ready after only three months... for myself. It's a whirlwind!

Congrats to you too. I just can't figure out what to wear after. My doc's packet said to wear loose fitting pajamas. Well with my figure if they're loose around the stomach they're coming down as I walk. LOL. Hope all goes well with you as well. Hope to hear from you on the forum again. Dotti

I got a date after my approval last friday. March 18th!!!! I am so excited but so nervous at the same time. I can believe how fast everything went. within a matter of 3 mo. I have gotten everything in to the insurance company gotten approved and set a surgery date. it so crazy I still can't believe its actually happening.

I am getting nervous. My Dr. did not give me a liquid diet for a week, but a NO FAT diet... that is hard to have 0 fat. He said it was to shrink the liver. Anyone just eat a "last supper" and have the surgery and have everything be ok? I am not like freaking out to have fast food or anything, just some Indian food that I really like. No sure if it good for me or not. LOL. Any March 4th people want to be pals? i am open to sharing recipies and funny stories! Thanks, Tanya in Washington.

My surgeon's office hasn't given me ANY specifics about the surgery. Not ONE... but my angel had the same surgeon and she told me that he doesn't do the two-weeks liquid diet before surgery, which is fine by me! (I'm going to modify and lighten up my diet leading up to my surgery anyway).
