I think its normal, it is like giving up a "old friend" but one that has caused a lot of pain and unhealthly things in most of our lives. My surgery is for March 10, 2008 and I am so ready to start a new part of my life that will be different but fuller and much more healthy. I want to be around to see my grandchildren and thats worth more than the food. Not easy and if you feel really nervous talk to your doctor, I did that yesterday and asked some really small things that were bothering me and it was great- put me at ease a bit. Only 3 more sleeps. So, this is my first time actually posting on the website. I have enjoyed reading everything on the website for a couple months now, so I figured I would jump right in. I am scheduled to have RNY on March 25th at Fountain Valley Hospital with Dr. Mir Ali. I was so excited a month ago and now I am feeling very apprehensive. I am not sure I want to do it. Do I really want this major life change? Do I want to give up food? There are a lot of things going through my mind right now. I drive by Carl's Jr everyday and just think... do I really want to say goodbye to you? That is crazy... right?

Hi, I had my lab band put in March 2, 2007 in Savannah, Ga. I love my band. I have gone from 260 #s to 140 #s. I used to wear size 26, and now I can wear size 8, 10s and some 12,. It depends what the style, material, etc. I followed my program from my bariatric office, I go to support groups, and I walked on a treadmill for 30mins a day. It has been the easilest weight I have ever lost. I have been at goal since Dec. 07. check out my photos. Barbara bailey.

Hi Im having surgery Tuesday March 11th at Henry Ford Bi County in Warren Michigan, just curious if anyone from Windsor or Michigan has the same date or will be in the hospital at the same time? I have Dr. Pesta, please let me know, just needing some support, I guess. thanks

Thanks everyone for the support...today was not so bad since I was not home much..I do have a bit of a headache...but not thinking about it. Hoping the next 2 weeks go nice and easy. I told my DH he is responsible for his meals now. And I will take care of our DD meals. Hugs, Dori
