I am on Day 4 of the liquid diet..and down 6 lbs. My doctor wants us to do it for compliance and to shrink the liver...will make it easier to see things when doing the surgery.
The only problem I am having is my sugars I am diabetic..so playing with my insulin (according to the doctor). So had to get some glucose tablets when or if my sugar goes low. Better then turning to food.
My date is March 20th.
You WILL and CAN do this.

I don't think that anyone buys that the two week diet is going to go perfectly. That said, the nutritionist at my group said that the two week thing is for 1) to see if we are compliant and 2) to help shrink the liver. These are both important.
I missed my surgery goal weight by one pound and ate a fatty meal four days before. I was terrified they would cancel the surgery, but they didn't. They just laughed and said I was being a little overworried.

Hey my surgery is 3/17 also , my doc does not require a 2 week liquid , he says he doesnt want us doing it cuz we have to do it after, he only has us doing the day before only clear liquids. But for some docs its so your body and your mind can get used to it.
my pre-op testing is on 3/11 ....and i gota loose 7lbs before my surgery .so ive been watchin what i eat.and drinkin protein shakes.

This 2 week diet is killing me. My hubby does not cook and I have 4 boys I have to cook for. I catch myself taking a bite of this or a sip of that, to test it, to make sure it tastes right, then I remember I am not supposed to be doing that.
HELP, my surgery is 3/17 and my preop testing is 3/10, I hope they clear me for everything for the diet!

I was banded on the 5th as well. I actually feel ok, I had anticipated much worse. How are you feeling? Are you on clear liquids for a week? Are you constipated, nauseous? Are you taking narcotics? I've been 3 ounces of water an hour and catching up on show I have recorded on TIVO, how about you?

will i would like to start by telling you that i have the same huspital same surgon only i am for march 17th...so love, this is it for me and i think i am as ready as am gona be...feel all you can feel now think and rethink ...but you know for me i think i am so ready i need to live my life i can not wast anymore...that's how i feel at 249lb and 5ft tall and 28 years old ....i am ready for my new life best luck
