Topic: RE: What is the purpose of the 2 week diet????
My doctor does require the 2 week diet. He requires Medifast. I know it was very difficult however My surgery went better than I could have Imagined. My doctor claims that is in part because I did so well on the diet. I lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks. This gave them ample room to work and my liver was nice and small like he wanted. Try to do your best for your own sake.

I had high blood pressure and they put me on Micardis and now it is perfect 120/70. I hope the meds work. Sending you lots of good luck vibes. Hugs, Dori

Topic: Pre Op appt did not go as expected
I started yesterday off with first getting TOM - I said better this week then next week. And I carried on. I went to work for 2 hours and got some stuff done then went for my pre-op at the doc's office. They were concerned because no one had scheduled a stress test. After several discussions it was left that the anethesiologist (bad spelling, I know) would make the call. So they stressed me out. I went from the doc to the hospital for pre admission testing. They took blood (lots of blood) and I had not eaten so I got a little queasy. But I was OK. My blood pressure was 155/94 - high. It has run high since this last weight gain. So a very nice young girl (I don't think she was more than 18!) came in and introduced herself as the anethesiologist (I'll stick with this spelling for now!). She did an EKG and said that my left ventricle was enlarged due to the high blood pressure. I now need to lower my blood pressure as low as I can before Monday OR THEY WILL CANCELL MY SURGERY!!! So much for the stress! LOL My primary doc gave me a prescription for Hydrochlorothizade 25 mg once a day and Atenolol 25 mg 2 times a day. Does anyone know if this will do the trick? What else can I do (Beside not worry) that will help? Oh, and the anethesiology said I did not need a stress test. But this morning the doc's office called and I am having a 3 hour stress test Thursday. I would appreciate any advice, help I could get!

I know that Capitol One makes these kind of loans. If you own a home you can do a line of credit, if not sometimes Citi Bank or Bank of America will give you a personel line at a higher interest rate. If you have trouble with your credit do you know someone who will act as a co signer?

I am VERY anxious and excited and I must admit a little scared. I have to be at Tampa General tomorrow morning at 5:30 am, my WLS is at 7:30am. They said it takes about 4 hours. I have never really had any surgery so I am nervous about it. The Dr. says he will give me something to clam me down a bit. My husband (who wa**** by a car at 14 and had several reconstructive surgeries for over two years) tells me it is a piece of cake and I will do just fine. Just keep me in your prayers
