Topic: date, time, and lots of butterflies....
The hospital just called me with my surgery time for Monday 3/17. I have to be at the hospital at 5:45am which means we'll need to leave home by 4:15am. I am excited and nervous and anxious and fearful - all those emotions in one are making me feel like I'm full of butterflies. Can't wait until this time next week, beyond the surgery and the hospital, on the road to recovery and losing pounds!
Best wishes and lots of prayers to all of you "Marchers" out there.

Honey, if you were in Oklahoma I could get you hooked up with a great surgeon and support group. I know how you feel. I was 333 pounds before my surgery at 5 '6".
I was worn out, felt broken down and old. My 16 year old son's arms wouldn't wrap around me when he hugged me. My insurance turned me down.
We went private pay with Capital One and I had surgery in October. Have lost 100 pounds and son's arms wrap around me. He said, "Mom! My arms reach all the way around you now!" I now weigh 230 pounds. I'm in your weight range and feel very, very good.
I wish I were there to give you a virtual hug. The only thing I could suggest would be to attend a support group given by your chosen clinic. Remember: this too shall pass.

Rest, walk, rest, walk, sip sip sip. You need to heal and it is going to take a little bit. But don't disobey the doc's orders! Your tummy needs to heal and you don't want any problems like band slippage or things backing up because you pushed it too fast.
When all else fails and I am frustrated with something and can't do much about it, I write. It helps.
I'll be keeping good thoughts!

Topic: help - in pain and hungry
I just had my lap band surgery yesterday, 3/12/08. I didn't think it would hurt this much. I am also very hungry. I have had water, broth, and sugar free jello. My stomach is growling so much. Any pointers on how to feel better and stop being so hungry?
Topic: RE: Lap Band Question
you may have done this already, but i would post this question on the lapband message board if I were you, there will be lots of people who can answer your question there.
