Topic: 8hrs!!!!!
OMG!!! I have eight hours until I have to leave to go to the hospital. I am panicing a little but calm at the same time. Its so weird. I think I just may have lost my best friend do to all this b/c he's obese too and thinks that b/c I am not at a four yr school and taking tons of classes that I'm not growing up and know what and adult friendship is. Aparently I am still acting like im in high school. Though I have already graduated as well. I think he is over stressed and is using it to "solve" his current problems. Which doesn't work and makes you lose friends that way. So good-bye bff no more. I think that has added to my stress a little which doesn't help. But oh well tomorrow is the day of "relaxation" haha . So I need sleep. Night all.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and started the process about 6 months to the day of my surgery (I was on March 13). The problem was in 2007 BCBS required a 6 month medically monitored diet and exercise program. In 2008 they dropped this requirement. My stuff was submitted to the insurance company in the end of December, and I got approval like begining of January (this was including holiday interruptions). Once its submitted, BCBS is pretty quick at giving an approval, I would say mine was less then 2 weeks. Then it just depends on your surgeon's availability. I'm praying for you!

Topic: RE: Help with Liquid/soft food diet!!!
Honestly, the biggest help to me (I'm now 4 days post op) was to remove any temptations from my house, I do live alone, so this was easy for me to do, as there is no one else in my house to feed. Also, another reccomendation I have, when you start to get a horrible craving, brush your teeth or use mouthwash. This will remove the taste from your mouth, not to mention, you can never have to much dental hygene =) Trust me, after the surgery, the liquid diet is much easier to follow. You really aren't hungry, it's just a matter of handling the cravings. For this, I reccomend either TIVO or movies. Honestly food and restaurant commercials are insanely tempting. Best of luck! You're in my prayers!

I only have to do mine for 10 days. I have to lose 10 pounds though so I might do it for 11 if I can stand it. Best of luck to you and lets keep track of each other!
