Topic: Tomorrow is "D" Day
Tomorrow at 10:15 am my surgery is scheduled. It's a revisional. Dr. Iqbal is the surgeon. My first gastric Bypass was 29 years ago.At that time there was no support group or nutrinional classes.
My daughter had the surgery 3 years ago and she lost over 150 pounds. She looks great.
I am starting to get nervous now it is now about 6:30 pm so now I have butterflies.
wish me luck and say a few prayers for me

Topic: Drinking wine?
Question for you guys? I have a close friends coming to town on April 25th (that will be 9 weeks out from my banding surgery) and I want to have at least a half a glass of wine. I understand that it hits you so quickly. Have any of you had a drink after surgery that soon? I don't plan on drinking continuously...just a couple of times that weekend?? What has been your experience?
Topic: Back from a wonderful gastric emptying study.......Yuck
That stuff makes me so ill. You eat radiation in a bowl of cream of wheat. I will be sick for at least 24 hours.
They are checking again to see how slow/fast I am passing foods or pills through my stomach to the bowel to the colon. Big deal. I hate this test, but my Mother thank God was with me to hold my hand.
I am going to my first "shrink" appointment tomorrow. This will be my first in the whole 7 years of suffering through all of this "new life". I feel that I am at a point now, where I need someone to talk to other than my immediate family.
Please keep me in your prayers as I do all of you. To receive my phone number, just send me an email and it's all yours.
Love forever,
Sandy
Topic: RE: BCBS Question
Hi,
I have BCBS through the Teamsters, which according to our benefits person follows the same guidelines as BCBS of Michigan, and just found out last month that they have changed the requirements to 6 months. I was going through the 12 months of supervised diet and missed Decembers appointment, so I called the Barix clinic to see how that would affect my schedule. I was pleasantly suprised when they told me of the change since I already had 6 month before I missed the appointment. After that it was just a matter of getting my psych eval (finished and sent to Barix), and getting scheduled.
I would call BCBS of Mi and make sure though.
