Sorry to hear that you had to reschedule. The new date will be here before you know it. I had my surgery 3/31 and got home from the hospital today. I feel pretty good. Still in some pain but feeling better every day. Good Luck with surgery and keep me posted.

Thank you. I just hope I don't gain back all that I lost before the surgery. I do good watching what I eat during the day, but as always the evenings and weekends are the hard part.

Pinkfrog, I was banded on March 4th. I felt restriction for a few days, I would say from swelling. Then i could eat anything. I was filled on 3/31/08 and now I have restriction. I lost weight and then gained some back, I understand it is tough but hang in there and you will survive. Kevin

Topic: 1 week post-op
Hi y'all. Posted a few months ago with insurance woes but that has since resolved. I had my open DS 3/24/2008. I am down 20 lbs since surgery. I think it's jus****er weight but nonetheless it's a loss!! My question is when do you feel like eating again?? I am relying heavily on my feeding tube which leaves me in 2 weeks. I don't feel I am getting enough calories orally. I am concentrating on protein intake via shakes. Have been able to get yogurt and cottage cheese down with success. I guess my mind set is I want real food!! As does everyone here. My pouch is sensitive still but it's still early. I just have to keep my eye on the prize!! Has anyone tried the 42 gm protein bullets? Just wondering what y'all think of them. I am trying to drink water but I still feel dehydrated, my skin is sooooo dry!

Topic: Lap Band 3/13 and not feeling ANY restriction
Hello, I had the lap band surgery on 3/13 and I am able to eat anything, I have no restriction at all. I am trying to watch what I eat, but I am able to eat like I was before the surgery. The only difference is I can't eat as fast, if I do I get a tight feeling in my chest and/or the hickups. I am not getting hungry as much as before the surger, but the reason I am overweight is because of my love for food... I need to physically be full. I have been told that the feeling I have is normal and once I get my first band adjustment on 4/24 I will start feeling the restriction and the effects of the band, then I will start to lose the weight. Is anyone else feeling this way? I have read so many posts and I feel like I am alone with this feeling. Thanks for the feedback! Pinkfrog

Topic: RE: 3/17 surgery people.... 2 weeks is tomorrow.........
I am so glad I visited here! I had my surgery 3/17 too and was losing steadily until Friday. My scale isn't the greatest but it is telling me that I have **gained** 4 lbs back. I am so bummed. I am so waiting for that stupid number to go back down. Plus I found out the hard way that I am allergic to whey protein. So, between the weight gain, constipation issues, and itchy hives I am a real prize tonight!! Melanie

Here is the link to the 5 day pouch test. -http://www.5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html - I hope it helps. My view of this surgery is that we will have to work on our fitness for the rest of our lives. Develop good habbits to replace the old bad ones. As much as I hate to admit it - it seems to me that it is a disease much like alcoholism - only we can never "quit" eating. But we can regain our control that food has over us. I must believe that - or there's no reason to go an have the surgery to change my life.... As for the info.... go to the top of the page and look under the forums tab. The WLS GRADs is for those folks who have had the surgery. Again - I am pre-op and I am only echoing the advise that I have read and made note of to use in my battles going forward. I pray that you will find the answers you need. Feel free to PM me anytime. I may not have the answers - but I will listen and point you elsewhere if I can.
