Topic: RE: Time..Find surgeon to actual Lapband surgery?
Just depends on ur insurance.. My 1st consult was May 2007......And then surgery wasnt till last month.... So its on the standards of ur insurance.. Which you will most likely go over in ur meeting with the dietician and social worker... Depending on office... Every place is different... Just dont get frustrated with it... And keep to it .. What they want.. You will get it .. When the time is right.

What city and state do you live in? Most jobs that do have health benefits do require a waiting period, but not all. I have seen posts where Home Depot has good health benefits. Good luck to you, Katrina

I'm just starting this journey. Think I have found the surgeon. How much time from doing the preliminaries to the actual event? Are we talking weeks, months? Just what am I going to be looking forward too?

Topic: RE: 3/17 surgery people.... 2 weeks is tomorrow.........
Hello! 3/25 surgery date......................two weeks out pretty much! Feeling okay, I have lost 27lbs since surgery but guess what happened? My dumb incision (open) has opened up causing me a lot of mental stress. Does any out there have any experience with a incision that opened up and if so, how long will it take to completely close. Feeling weird because of this................ PS.....Any suggestions on what I can do to spend the healing process up?

Topic: RE: Mood swings?
I had surgery 3/12/2008 and I am having a little depression and anxiety my PCP has givin me a little Adivan for the next 30 days to help me, and he did blood work, I am waiting on the results from him to see if I need to do weekly B-12 injections. The anxiety is driving me freakin nuts, I am worried about every little thing and that just is not me. I hope I feel better soon.

I'm so happy you posted! I've been wondering how you've been doing. You went back to teaching high school in two weeks? Yowza! Congratulations on your incredible success! Janice

Aside from when they took my pain-pump away in the hospital, I haven't had hardly any difficult moments. There was that one email I sent to a supervisor at work, about work that hadn't been done, and I was a bit snippy there, and I do seem to get more emotional, but mostly only when it's the end of a very long hard day at work and I'm exhausted, and I think that was always the case with me, the more tired and mentally/emotionally/physically burned out i feel, the less tolerance i have for emotional issues. I really hope to avoid the whole "mood swing" thing if possible.
