Lap Band on 03/07/08 with
Topic: RE: Lap Band 3/13 and not feeling ANY restriction
I was banded on 3-7-08 and I had my first fill on 4-12-08. I still don't feel any restriction. I can eat. It is hard not too. But I don't want to gain back my weight. My doctor said it may take more than one fill to feel restriction. I thought that after a fill you could only eat 4 ounces. That's wrong for me anyway. I have not got sick at all. I feel like I could eat any kind of food. I have not tried bread, but chicked breast goes down fine. I want to get another fill as soon as I can. Jill

Lap Band on 03/13/08 with
Topic: RE: Time..Find surgeon to actual Lapband surgery?
It really does on your insurance. I first got my referral to my surgeon in late july and my surgery was march 13th. i know that is a long time but there was some issue with my insurances contract with the hospital. i am sure yours will be much sooner then that. also keep in mind it depends on your surgeon too. I know that one of the surgeons at my doctors office was booked months in advanced.

Hi Kim, I am new to the website. Not quite familiar with how to set up my profile, but, all in good time. My surgery was 3/11/08 at Barix Clinic. Dr. Popcova was great. So were nurses, etc. Last night I went to my first Support Group Meeting (3rd Wednesday of each month). Wow! Lots of skinny people who swear they once were overweight!!!! Very helpful. Talked about all kinds of issues like accepting a compliment, seeing yourself as thin, etc. Can't wait to have some issues of my own.....Losing great. First time in my life it's fun to get on the scale. Hell, I let my husband see the scale, too. (First time in my 15 year marriage!) Due to go back for my 6 week checkup on Monday. Can't wait for an official weight loss.....Well wishing you all the best....Charmaine

Hi Kim! I am 6 weeks out today. Everything is going well so far, no major hic-ups. I have been cleared to have all food types, but I am being SO careful. Protein and water, protein and water! Some days the water is difficult, but I know what dehaydration feels like and I don't want any part of it! This board is awesome, I have lived on it since my surgery and it has helped with the rough times since surgery and before. Katrina
