Topic: WOW 3 months today (3/20) and I am officially down....
70 POUNDS!!! I feel terrific. I am off all my meds and still on a tiny bit of insulin (14 units down from 100 a day). But soon will be off it because been having a few lows.
I walk, play tennis and do Wii FIT. Before surgery, I was in pain for 13 months with 2 herniated discs and now feel NO PAIN.
We are going to Disney and Universal next week and cannot wait. Going to be so different from when we were there in December.
Thanks for letting me share.
HUGS!

Wow 62 lbs! That is great. I'll be 3 months out on the 27th of this montha nd I am down 54lbs. I made it to Onederland (199.8 lbs) just this morning. Guess it's time to take more pics but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Mainly because I just can't see a difference.

Topic: RE: Eating to much?!?!?!?
Very interesting how different doctors are....because I am not suppose to have an carbs like tortillas yet. I would weigh and measure everything. And watch what you are eating...
Always make sure your proteins are first, then veggies then healthy carbs.

I had surgery the same day as you. I can't eat more than two square inches of a tortilla before I have eaten too much!
Are you tracking your food intake? Tracking your calories? Getting protein in first? Getting your liquids in?
When do you get nauseas (sp)? If it's consistently after you are eating, then you are probably/possibly eating too much.
My typical day's consumption of food includes 1 protein bar, 4 ounces of protein dense foods, 1/4 cup of nuts, and two protein shakes. with a little bit of variety of course, but that's about it, and that I eat only because I know it's TIME to eat. Me and hunger are not good friends. I've tried one tortilla since I had surgery and got so full so fast I had to spit out the second mouthful.
My surgeon's ultimate guidelines are 70 - 100 g of protein, 100 -120 g of good complex carbs, and 20 - 30 g of fat, not to exceed 1200 calories, and included in that would be 64 - 120 ounces of liquid.
Good luck. Talk it over with your nutritionist, and call your surgeon about the nausea
