I am 6 years out from having gastric bypass and I have moved to a new state and have a new doctor. Can anyone give me a list of the labs that I need this far out? My Dr has never treated a bypass patient before! Thanks!!

Topic: Checking In

Hi all,

I haven't been on OH in forever (okay, at least a year and a half) and wanted to check in with everyone and see how everyone is doing.  Where are your lives at now?  How is it all going?

Yours,

Janice

Hi March 08 surgery folks,

I'm inviting you to a little group to help those (yes, including myself) who have gained 10 or more pounds beyond that lowest weight. We are calling it the "Drop 10 for 10 Challenge". You can easily join this group by going to www.obesityhelp.com/group/Drop10410. I'm hoping that with your help we can generate a little excitement and enthusiasm for getting back on track. We will have a monthly weighin, but it will only be pounds off since the start of the new 2010 decade. Your participation is only what you want to make it. I'm pumped up and ready to get back on track for 2010.

There are no hard and fast rules for joining, but you really should be at least 10 pounds above your lowest post-surgery weight and interested in getting things back in line.

Let's get this new decade off to a great start.

Hello! I am new to this board. I usually hang out at the RNY and main forum boards. I have lost a total of 107 pounds, with 20 to go. My personal goal is 10 more but my doc wants me as low as I can get due to "bounce back" and regain weight. I lvoe the new me. I have more confidence, feel prettier, love shopping for clothes, walking places without getting winded, painting my own toes, and jsuthaving more energy. Oh, and I loe the looks I now notice I get from the opposite sex. I love to cook and am alwuysont ehlookout for new recipes to try.

I know the frustration you feel! Once I lost my initial 100 pounds back in October/Novembe, my weight loss slowed way down to a crawl and I've only lost 7 pounds since Christmas. I'm hoping to just keep pushing forward and with the nice weather and habits of summer, the weight will fall.

March 10th was my aniiversary.  I have lost 128 pounds.  I lost 100 in a little over six months and It has taken four months to lose 28 pounds.  I haven't lost anything in almost two months.  I also find I am feeling hungry again which is upseting.  I'm just glad to see this seems to be "normal" in a sence.

Hi all,
I just wanted to celebrate my surgiversary with all the WLS folks on this forum.  I want to thank OH and especially those that post their progress as this is very motivating.  I had RNY surgery one year ago with Dr. Nohr in Alberta.  I had to travel from Manitoba to Alberta to have this done.  My highest weight ever was 318.8 lbs in 2007.  Just prior to surgery in March 2008, I weighed 286 lbs and now one year later I am 148 lbs.  I have lost about 52 " in the breast/waist/hip area.  I am down from a size 4/5X to a size 12/14.   At six months I was in onderland, at 7 months I lost 100 lbs.  No turning back, eh.
No regrets.  I feel healthy and very very happy!  Thanks all!

Hi Johnna,
I am out 1 year this month too.  I weigh myself only once a month on my anniversary date... I used to weigh myself earlier in the month and then was frustrated if I didn't lose enough, crazy eh, we've lost over 100 lbs and yet we are mad if we only lose a few pounds.

Congratulations on your loss, we all need to celebrate and be proud of our accomplishments.  I know somettimes I feel that I haven't lost enough but it is finally catching up with me... look at your pre-surgery pics and compare...hope this helps.

Topic: Almost 1 year...questions
Hello!

I will be 1 year out on March 19th. I was 372.5 on the day of surgery. I now weigh 253. I will only lose 1 week a month, the other 3 weeks seem to be nothing. This has been going on for about 4 months now. WIll I stop losing soon or does it keep going? My goal is 180 but boy it is slow going. I also find I can eat more at times than others. Is this normal and should I be losing faster than what I am?

THanks,
Johnna  :)
