Am I eating too much?
After looking at posts about what everyone is eating, I'm a little nervous that I'm actually eating too much! I eat about 4 oz a meal, somes a little more.
I'm able to eat yogurt (lowfat, sugarfree), lowfat cheese, graham crackers, peanut butter (natural), apple sauce, broiled chicken, porkchops (broiled), potatoes (baked and mashed), some lean cuisines, spaghetti (wheat), some nuts, crackers, toast, cottage cheese, green beans, sugar free and fat free pudding. I went through clear liquids, then pureed diet and then a soft diet. Now I'm trying to eat what I can tolerate and get my 60 grams of protien in. I'm using Isopure to help with that.
Don't get me wrong, I don't really eat much -- for example I had a lowfat cheese stick and 3 wheat crackers for breakfast, 3/4 of a lean cuisine for lunch and then I'll try to keep down some chicken for dinner, with possibly 1/2 a graham cracker w/PB for a snack -- so its not much, but it sounds like the rest of you are eating much less.
However, I've lost 31.5 lbs since my surgery on 3/28/08, so I must be doing okay, right?
Any thoughts on this from the group?
All of you are doing so well, I had my surgery April 29, and while in hospital of all things I gained 15 lbs, well as of two days ago I lost the 15 lbs and the funny thing when I was in the hospital I had no trouble drinking the amounts of fluids they gave me and now that I am home on the purees they said I would not be able to maybe eat 1/4 of the tray but I could eat 1/2 that was a little scary, I now can eat just about everything also, nothing has come back up yet I am not sure even if it will, I am not planning on testing my limits. I have thoughts that maybe they did not even perform the surgery on me, if it was not for the huge scar on my stomach. I will be happy when I can lose some new weight, other than the lbs that I had gained and had to lose back.
