Protein Shakes

I am 4 weeks out this Mon., 04/28/08. I was told to get my protein in first and, of course, the only way to get the alloted amount of 60-70 grams a day is to do the protein shakes. I hate them! Is there anyone out there who has found a way of getting in enough protein or is there a protein shake/supplement that is actaully decent tasting? I worry about not getting enough and eventaully losing my hair but I can't make myself drink those things. MrsFlo7
Unjury makes a good chocolate shake and it's all I can drink although I haven't tried too many varieties. You can only buy them online but they come very quickly! www.unjury.com
My secret is three-fold
In the morning, to kick-start my reluctant tum-tum, I make a hot-cocoa protein drink:
Warm up a coffee cup of water in the microwave for 30 seconds. Add a packet of NSA hot cocoa and a scoop of chocolate protein powder. I use the cheap-oh chocolate protein powder you can get at WalMart. After I mix those in I nuke it for 20 more seconds (not too long or the protein cooks and it tastes nasty). I sip that in the morning and it's great.
Second is PROPEL. I love their bottles. I try to drink one 24 ounce bottle per day. I save the bottle, rinse it out, and allow it to dry.
Third is to use the propel bottle to make and drink my protein shake. I take one or one and a half scoops of Nectar Syntrax protein powder. Usually it is Fuzzy Navel, or Natural Orange, or Natural Peach. I also add my calcium powder, UpCalD to it, as it doesn't ruin the flavor, and makes taking calcium very easy. Then I take a complementary flavor of crystal light, and I add that to the bottles. When I'm ready to drink it, I add water (approximately 22 oz) and shake shake shake. Then I drink the protein shake from the propel bottle, which has a great feature: a wonderful lid that keeps the terrible, awful, yucky SMELL of the protein powder INSIDE the bottle and only lets out the flavor!
My breakfast cocoa and my propel-bottle-shake are 60 grams of protein when I make the propel-shake a scoop and a half.
Hope this helps. For me I do the protein drinks because I don't want to lose my hair and this is the only thing I have control over. I don't have control over other things.
I went to GNC and bought their 100% Whey protein drink mixes (I've done chocolate, banana, vanilla and mixed berry) and to me the Vanilla was the best. I add powdered milk and a fruit to it. Like strawberries and bananas or blueberries and bananas. You get 29 grams of protein in one scoop of powder. I do three scoops to two 8 fl. oz of cold water and blend it in a blender so I wind up with 87 grams of protein.
Also, I bought New-Whey liquid protein shooters from them as well. Those have 42 grams of protein and don't take long to drink at all. The fruit punch one tastes very good. The grape one is to sweet for me. Don't know if this helps you or if you have a GNC where you are but, I hope so.
