NEW TO ALL THIS?NEED HELP!

Hi everyone, my name is joann and I'm in the process of getting ready to have gastric bypass surgery with Dr.Michael kia in flint michigan out of mclaren hospital. He's a good young surgeon and I wondered if anyone has had surgery with him and what they think?I am also a nurse at another hospital in the area that does not do bariatric surgery,but that Dr.Kia performs surgery at,and he seems very good with his patients.I'm scared,but know I need to move forward to get my life back.I was denied the surgery by hurley hospital in flint michigan because I had melanoma cancer two years ago.So my only choice in the area was mclaren,their program and staff seem so caring and knowlegable.But would feel better if anyone has already been through this with them and could let me know how they feel.Thanks ahead of time for any information.
