Ok, I am new (again). I joined several years ago and never got a chance, my insurance wouldn't pay. I have a different insurance now and I am waiting on approval. Part of me feels like they will approve it, but at a $5000 copay.... not a deductable but copay. My question is who out there loans money for surgeries like this. Whether it be 5000 dollars or 150000 dollars, I don't have it and my credit sucks. Where can I look for someone to loan this type of money? I have a new job now and things are looking up, I am bringing that credit score up, but it takes a long while to bring up what can fall in no time:~))

I know that Capitol One makes these kind of loans. If you own a home you can do a line of credit, if not sometimes Citi Bank or Bank of America will give you a personel line at a higher interest rate. If you have trouble with your credit do you know someone who will act as a co signer?

Look at the positive - I paid almost $10,000 out of pocket - my insurance would not even consider the surgery. I used Capital One. I found that applying online was very easy. My only surprise was that the surgeon's office charged me an additional $350 for a "processing fee". My thought on this was - I am very comfortable with this surgeon and his office staff - heck - I'd spend that much on lunches :) I went for it and never looked back! Good Luck!
