I will also be getting a health care proxy form in place, getting ready for my MIL to be here (she is going to stay with me while I recover to help me (yes this is a great thing)) LOL. But mostly I will be trying to keep my mind off the fact that I can only have liquids for 2 weeks and working lots of hours so I dont return to a desk that is totally buried by work from when I am out.

I agree to the items already listed and add: color my hair line up a great substitute teacher (I might get lucky and come back to a clean desk!?!?) change my bedding check the batteries on the remotes go no carbs and then liquid the day prior to surgery Is beer okay on the liquid diet? wine? a margarita?

Actually, one of the things I am going to do, I am starting today and that is begin a relationship with a counselor to discuss the changes involved and my brick walls, feelings, and so on. Fat has served to protect me in many ways, so I need to do what I can to stop that and that starts with figuring out how it has protected me. Other things include getting my house in order; already got the cable upgraded so I won't be too terribly bored; get new athletic shoes (I realized this morning working out that my toes are pushing against the box); and I think the manicure/pedicure idea sounds GREAT! But remember you have to remove polish prior to going into the surgical suite. I'm getting excited. Do you realize that March is less than 40 days away??? Janice

I think that the clear would need to be removed too. Ask the hospital for their policies. With all due respect to the lady who wrote the book about wearing lipstick to her masectomy, makeup and nail polish interfere with something in the operating room (don't ask me what ... I don't know .. hehe). Of course, my knowledge could be antiquated too.

Well, I don't know about the manicure/pedicure LOL, but everything else seem like a great idea! I'm also trying to get caught up on work so that I won't have to "hit the ground running" when I return. I'm so happy to see more activity on this board! When I first scheduled (back in December!) there was next to nothing on this board! BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE!

I dunno, Jason, I'd really like to see a post from your spousal unit saying that your feet and hands were so soft and beautiful as you went into surgery! hehehe. Janice
