Topic: RE: The first 6 months
Hi, This post was so much fun to read. I am glad to hear that everyone is doing so well. I had my surgery on March 7,2007. So I am getting close to 7 months now. At my six month follow up appointment I was super excited to find out that I have lost a total of 150 lbs. 10 lbs was pre-op, but the other 140 was all after my surgery. I know that sounds like too much to some of you, but you need to know my highest weight was 444 lbs. I now weigh @ 292.(or less I haven't weighed in 3 weeks) My current weight is now similar to some people's highest weight. I just hope I continue to lose, I would love to some day be under the 200's. I am just so thankful that my health is so much better. I think it was Chris who said "its not the numbers," what is important is that I have a life now!!! I was almost totally handicapped before. I was in a wheel chair to go shopping, and I had to use it to go to my son's football games last year. This year I can walk proudly out to the field and cheer his team on.(and I don't have to feel embarassed, like everyone is staring at me.) This is what it has been about for me! GO WARRIORS!!!! What an awesome feeling my dreams are coming true! Thanks for letting me share! Christina

Topic: RE: Question about Spouses
Hi, I like your idea of buying a pair of pants that are smaller and shrinking in to them. That sounds like fun. I was at the good will a week or two ago and I tried on a size 20, (I started at a 30-32) they didn't fit I was so bummed so I put them back because I was depressed that they didn't fit, I am not sure exactly what size I wear because I was given several pairs of pants by my sister and they have no tags in them. So I guess I was being a little optimistic. I should have just bought them anyways and shrunk into them. Oh well I am sure I will be even smaller than that when I am done so next time I see a pair of 20's or 18's I think I will buy them if I like them and shrink down into them. Thanks for the idea. Christina

Well, it sounds as if he may be a little jealous or insecure. And hey, as for the tight jeans, at least you got them on. You probably couldn't have done that 6 months ago. And in a few more months, you will be able to wear them comfortably. It is amazing how fast the body shrinks. Prior to surgery, I bought a size 8 pair of pants. I couldn't get them past my knees. Six months later, I wear them to work. So don't worry about your husband. As long as you feel good about yourself, that is all that matters.
