Topic: I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT....
just a little obsessive-compulsive thing I did. When it came to my monthly surgiversary, I would stand in front of the mirror and sing "Happy Birthday!" I know it sounds corny, but I did it anyway! Well, this morning I realized that it is the 14th, and on Friday the 12th, my 7 month surgiversary, I forgot. So to me this means a couple different things.....I have been very busy in life right now, and simply, FORGOT; I didn't look in the mirror on Friday; and/or (but I think this is it), I am totally and completely me....not a WLS patient, or an OBESE person, or a dieting diva. Just me, thinner (108 pounds less), more fit (walking 5+ miles/daily), healthier (you know all the benefits), and happier....MUCH happier.
So, when your surgiversary date hits, look in the mirror and PRAISE yourself. You (and I), deserve it!!!
Hugs,
Lora
Topic: RE: The first 6 months
It is good to hear from others that had surgery around the same time I did. So far my 6 months has been awesome. I weighed 240 at my surgery consult, 227 the day of surgery and I am down to 157 for a total loss of 83 lbs. I just wish I had lost more, I wanted to have 100 lbs off in 6 months but at least I still lost. Only had a few times of throwing up only because I either ate something a little too fast or accidentally took a drink after taking a bite. But I have figured out that I can not do that. I exercise every day I run 2 miles and walk 1 and then I run bleachers. I have only lost 2 lbs the last month though and it is irritating. I figure it is because I am exercising gaining muscle and I guess that is good, but I like when the numbers fall on the scale. I started out wearing 22's and now I wear anything from a 5 to a 9 just depends on who makes the jeans. Dickies I am wearing a 5, lawman, cruel girl and rockies I wear a 9. It is getting better I just want to get to goal, and I know I need to have patients.

We will get there! I had a couple of bumps as well and I can not exercise yet no matter how much I want to.
Fortunately for me..I still crave protein...cheese and steak are favs....but the only other thing I crave on occasion is popcorn! Which I allow myself to have 1 x a week, air popped with buttery spray.
My last set of labs were good except for liver enzymes and they have been coming down...just slowly.
I too am glad I did it but can't wait to feel human again

I haven't been around much either...busy with life..etc. I had my surgery March 21, 2007, my surgery weight was 309 and am now at 210..a 99 llb loss in 6 months...haven't lost much in over a month..like 3 llbs!!! getting frustrated. BUT i do not exercise and I eat.
I had a few "bumps" in the road....a stricture at 6 weeks out and then had to have my gallbladder out at 12 weeks....alot of vomitting, diahrea, etc etc..
I get weird cravings...mostly eggs, cheese which is good for my protien. but i also crave ice and alot of pasta. the pasta is killing me !!!
My labs show low iron, and elevated liver enzymes? I am anemic...and have ZERO energy...( hence the NO exercising...)..
I am glad I did it.. but I haven't felt really "Well" since.

Hi! I haven't posted in ages or really even been by the boards, but I love checking in with the Marchers.
I had my surgery March 1, with my heightest weight being 277. I'm at 183 now, so nearly at that 100 pound loss in 7 months.
I can't believe how much weight that really is in such a short amount of time.
My struggles are getting in enough water, and staying away from too much fat. I really like working out so getting in the exercising hasn't been too hard.
I find I'm cold ALL the time now! I leave a sweater at work because I know I will be freezing and everyone else will be sweating.
I went from a 24/26 to a solid 14 right now, size L in shirts. My boobs have shrank the most, but hey. That's life!
My only question is how does it stop? Will it slow down soon? I have been losing pretty steadily at 13 pounds a month. I thought it would kind of trickle off. I haven't had plateaus either. I only weigh myslef once a week at the gym.
Thanks to everyone *****plied. I love reading about what's been going on in our journeys.

That's awesome!!!
Make sure to focus on the HUGE amount you've lost, and not so much on what you have to go.
