Topic: RE: Anyone else getting nervous?
3/6 is only 12 days away (not that I'm counting)... so what it there to be nervous about besides everything?!? Best of luck to all! Looking forward to seeing everyone on the losing side soon!
Topic: March 26th is my re-birth......
I finally have a date after many prayers and tears......Even after being denied twice, Dr. Burrowes and his staff worked miracles on getting me approved......Thank you Lord!
Topic: A brand new set of MARCHers!
Greetings!
Are you ready for the wild WLS ride? I wanted to stop by and wish all of you the best of luck with your weight loss journeys. There will be lots of WOWs and just as many moments of frustration. I will be one year out on March 7th and can tell you that while it certainly hasn't been easy, my journey has been rewarding on so many levels.
This March 2007 board can be a source of incredible support for each of you. You will experience many things at the same time as others who had surgery in March. I know that the March 2006 board has been my inspiration and also saved my sanity many a time. I encourage you to post here often. Celebrate with each other and commisserate with each other when necessary. Above all, support each other.
Please remember that everything takes time. You will not leave the hospital able to consume all of your required water, protein and vitamins. That's okay! You will find a way to incorporate all of those things and you'll arrive at the point where it is a natural part of your day. My other piece of advice is to document your journey. Take pictures every month, measure monthly and record your weight often. These things will help you understand your progress and you'll be able to SEE your progress which often doesn't occur when you look in the mirror.
Remember, also, that post-ops with months, and even years, under their belt are only an email away. Take care of yourselves and each other!

Topic: RE: I've got a date - March 12
My date is March 12th also but in Mississippi at CMMC....we will share the same anniversary. Add me as your friend and we can keep up with each other. Of course, I am a different animal because I am a revision from a lap band 10 years ago to the RNY but it still will be fun to keep up with each other, right?
Good Luck and try to stay calm for the next three weeks. OMG!!!!

I am right there with ya'll and to think....this is my 2nd time around. Yep, I am having a revision from the lap band to RNY. I'm not crazy, I promise. It has been 10 years since I had my band and they have come a long way since then. I lost 200# but have gained 52# back. Have faith, say a prayer and remember that this is a tool to help you aquire a healthier you...something God would want you to be!!

Beth in MS
P.S. My date is March 12, 2007. I will keep up with all of you!!! Best of luck and see ya'll on the losing side!!
Topic: 10 years POST OP now...just 3 weeks PREOP
That's correct...10 years ago in September 1996 I had a Molina band installed in Houston, Texas
On March 12, 2007, Dr. Ken Cleveland of CMMC in Jackson, MS will be my hero with a revision and change from the band to the RNY.
I am so darn excited. The road to this point took two years and the death of my mother from Acid Reflux induced Esophogeal Cancer. Yes, Acid Reflux caused my mothers Cancer and my acid reflux is so bad that my surviving dad who is 81 years old is helping pay the out-of-pocket expenses. He lost the love of his life in my mother (they were married for 59 years) and doesn't want to risk losing his baby daughter too.
Keep your fingers crossed and pray for me!!
Love,
Beth

I'm not nervous....I'm petrified!!! My surgeon gave me some vallium to help, but I don't think the dosage is correct. I don't feel any changes when I take it. They are only 5 mg. You know what scares me the most is the fear. I fear the fear I will feel the day before and the day of the surgery. I can't even think about it I'm so scared. My date is 03/02/2007
