Topic: RE: Congratulations from a March 2006 WLS guy (long post)
As another fellow Marcher from 2006, I would like to echo Rick's congratulations to you all on the journey you are about to take. It is going to be an incredible ride for you all.
I agree with all the suggestions Rick made. I would also like to emphasize the importance of exercise. Start walking as soon as you can and continually try to do more and more. I made it a habit of walking early morning and after work to jumpstart my metabolism twice daily. I really think it made a big difference.
Anyway, as Rick said, feel free to drop by the March 2006 board if you have any questions about what you can expect your first year. Good luck to you all.
Here are my numbers.
Weight at Cardiology exam February 22, 2006: 405
Weight day of surgery (March 15, 2006) 389
Weight today: 208
Topic: Im new to this...figure I better hop on board
Hi everyone,
I have been reading faithfully so many things about a lot of you. I am moved and really touched on how so many of us have the same story. I was not an obese child. Actually I was VERY athletic and was a runner(sprinter) that broke all kinds of track & field records in Canada. It was a car accident that almost took my life. Many years of physical pain and emotions that really put on the weight for me. But now I am doing 100% better emotionally and I am really ready to get better again physically.(My dream is to run again)
Why I am writing this is because I was suppose to have surgery 5 days from now but it was postponed to March 29th. I am really bummed out. Please someone cheer me up!!!

Topic: RE: Anyone else getting nervous?
Am I nervous? I feel like Barney Fife! I think I've repacked my bags several times already. I'm set for a March 5th DS w/Dr. Ungson in Mexico..I still can't figure out how to change that info on my profile. My Siamese can't figure out why her mommy-lap won't stay in place for more than a couple of minutes. I keep jumping up to check my luggage or some bit of info online. Someone on the DS forum said that a day or two before surgery, it all hits you and you get really really calm and its all over before you know it...sounds like a state of shock to me.
Good Luck and Happy Doctor Day to you all,
Peggy L

Topic: Surgery March 6, 2007
My surgery is scheduled with Dr. Freeman in Anniston, Al . I am so excited ! Its less than 2 weeks away and still seems like a long time away for a lifetime dream. Anyone else having surgery around that time in Anniston or close by? I would like to keep in touch and see how we do since it will be done basically together.
