Topic: Gaining weight?
Good Morning All,

Well, it seems I've started gaining weight all of a sudden.  I want to attribute it to water retention and the heat, but not sure that's possible.

I've been eating the right things mostly.  Although I seem to have picked up a penchant to eat a few jelly beans every day.  However, I workout at least 3 times a week very hard so you'd think that would counteract the jelly beans.

I still eat small amounts of food that are protein based.

Seems like I go through this every few months or so and it drives me crazy.  I don't ever want to be fat again and I fear this every time I get on the scale and the number has jumped up like this.

What the heck?  I don't want to drive myself crazy that's for sure.

Anyone else experience this any suggestions?

Franci

I lost 170lbs. The only issue I have is an ulcer right at my surgery connection..Ouch very painful. I am never hungry and too much food in front of me makes me sick. I do have to walk way at times. I am not ready yet for plastics, due to the pain from the ulcer I have. I did contact that show the DOCTORS, to apply for a total body makeover. I will keep you all posted. Luv u all..Kathy

I guess it's both good and bad that this board has gone so quiet.  Bad for obvious reasons, good because maybe most of us are too busy out living life to visit the forum too much.

It's been a dynamic 2 years.  I hit my revised goal of 150 pounds about a year ago and now stand at 145 pounds with a 26-27 inch waist and wearing S-M shirts, for a total weight loss of 235 pounds with 185 lost since surgery.  Also, as of last September, I have moved abroad to the Philippines, where a healthy and active lifestyle is the norm.  The way I live my life now will, hopefully, ensure continued success through the rest of my life.

Well, guys, gotta get back out there.  Continued success to everyone.

I'm doing very well weight/wise since my surgery.  I've lost and kept off just over 160 pounds since my highest weight (a few months before my surgery).  Life's more active and more intense at 190 than it was at 350+.  My weight is in an ideal range, but it would be nice to pack on some more muscle mass.  On the down side, my new more active life has resulted in a couple major injuries.  Need to get back into my exercise routines, but taking it easy as I'm recovering from a motorcycle accident.  I feel good about having kept my weight down even though I was down for a while with a couple injuries.

I'm not always upbeat, despite losing the weight.  I'm learning to deal with life's strong emotions with out feeding them.  I agree with others here that it's easy to slip into old habits.

Those who have been following my story, theshumgirl (my dear wife) also had RNY 2 weeks after me.  She is doing great! having lost 100 lbs.  One of our biggest problems these days is deciding which exciting life option we want to take on.  Life seems to be filled with so many options that we can now choose from.  Our options haven't really changed that much, just our perspective has.

Hello sounds like we are kinda in the same boat we both are maintaining about 110 loss of weight but man oh man i trully did not think it would be this hard either but that was my reality check they gave me the tool and about a year and a half to get used to it and now it's me ....
but as i tell people they fixed my stomack not my head and I sure wish there was something in between but I can do it and I am I just have to think before I put it in!!! thanks for your post!

Here it is the end of the day of the second anniversary of the event that changed my life for the better-undergoing lap band surgery.

Because of this procedure, not only had it helped me make some positive changes that will affect me in the long term, but also as a result of it, allowed me to connect to others that had the surgery as well to share our stories, give and receive feedback on the everyday challenges we face, try things none of us would ever think possible pre-surgery.

Since this was the first weekend of spring, I spent it on a two mile hike as well as doing aerobics, in addition to doing some writing. With much more beautiful weather now upon us, I am definitely taking advantage.

And when the days are less than stellar weather wise- I recommend the Leslie Sansone DVD's! They really get the job done when I am unable to get outside.

My three year band-niversary is March 22, 2010!

Yesterday was my surgiversary, and I am thankful to have had my RNY when I did. I've maintained about a 115 pound loss since 1 year out. It's harder than I thought it would be, for sure. I have a ten pound range I move through, and it can be frustrating. I didn't think maintenance would be so hard!
I'd love to hear how others are...

Hi,

I had my RNY on 03/27/07 and I lost about 113 pounds I weighed 253 when I began. On 12/28/07, I had a tummy tuck. My insurance company covered both surgeries. I do not hae any loose skin other than the tummy and now it is gone. I was truly blessed. I had previous surgeries and I had that flap and I had a excellent surgeon and his insurance team knew just what to do to get me appoved. I know I probably shoud have waited but, I had alreadymet my out of pocket ad detuctible so why not? I went from aize 20 to 6-8 about. I feel great about myself. I will post some before and afters.
