Topic: Support Group Irving Texas
Hello all! I have looked on the forums and support groups and do not find anything for Irving Texas or anything even close. I really feel that I need something!!!! If anyone knows of any support groups in my area please let me know.
My husband is very supportive but at this point and time it is not enough. I had my band on 07/20/05 and have hardly lost anything. I have degenerative disc disease in my lumbar area and arthritis in both knees. I have "exercised" 3 times since surgery. I have also had "MANY" espisodes after fills of being VERY sick. Sick to the point of everything I try to eat making me throw up and terrible pain in my stomach. I have had an epiphany and did not do this surgery for nothing. I am 39 and have PCOS and want to have a baby also! I have three beautiful stepchildren, 9 grandchildren and a wonderful 5 year old Godson. But I want my own child. This will not happen if I do not get the weight off, it might now even happen then but at least I will still have done something great for myself in getting the weight off. People are always making comments that I have lost and look like I am still losing, according to my weight I am not, but I feel smaller and my clothes keep feeling looser. I know that I am not eating right and definitely not getting enough protein. I HAVE GOT TO MAKE CHANGES NOW AND STICK WITH THEM. I have no energy and sit like a vegetable when I get home from work, then in the morning I am always running late so I do not pack healthy snacks nor anything for lunch. So you know what that means, getting something that I either can't get down or something that is not healthy for me. I have the "Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery" book but a lot of the recipes sound absoutely gross to me. And then there are so many chicken recipes but my doctor says no chicken, I do still do dark meat sometimes. Tonight we are cooking pork chops on the grill, I will make a salad and some rice. Not sure at this point what it bad and what is good. I did really well for about 7 months after surgery, then my husband had to change jobs and our insurance changed, as did a lot of other things, and I just went downhill from there. Now I need to get back up. I am getting up from the computer when I finish this, making a protein shake, putiing on my clothes and going to the fitness center here at the apartment. I plan on joining water aerobics at the local college in two weeks.
Thanks for letting me vent and any suggestions or comments, good or bad, will be GREATLY appreciated.
God Bless to all,
Paula

Topic: Weird tummy pains?
Hello everyone. I'm not sure how to describe this. I'll be 2 yrs post op from open rny gastric bypass 3/24. I had a panniculectomy 9/8/06, was supposed to have had hernia repair that day in my belly button but my ps said I didn't have a hernia. The panni took over 4 hours cause I had something called distensia (I know I misspelled that). He said it was something where the muscles had pulled away from the abdomen wall. He told me he repaired some of that. He said instead of just a panni he did 3/4 of a full tummy tuck. Ok. I am not having major pains here. But there are times that I have really weird, irritating pains in my tummy. It feels more like muscle pains instead of being in my stomach. I don't know how to explain it. Sometimes they're quick sharp pains, sometimes tingling pains. There around the my belly button area and I know since I had the panni my stomach is not as flat as it would have been with the full tummy tuck with muscle tightening. I didn't expect it would be. But there are a couple of places that look like their bulgy. They kind of poke out more than they used to. Any thoughts? I need to have a physical done soon. I think I'll call my pcp tomorrow and set that up and see what he thinks. Also, since I'll be 2 yrs out the end of the month I need to see Dr Shina for a check up. I guess I could see what his thoughts are on this also. The skin are my tummy feels taunt and stretched. I haven't gained weight, I'm maintaining. I just look bulgy in spots, mainly around the belly button area. To the sides of it. Am I making any sense at all? I know I confuse myself.
Hugs
Ange
P.S. What do u do when u get the urge to graze? Here lately the head hunger or the urge to do nervous eating is driving me nutty. I'm not doing that but the urge is there. Since we totalled my car I haven't been going to the gym. As soon as I get another vehicle (soon I hope!) I'm starting back down there. Plus I have to bake cookies for Adam and the kids. That kills me. What are some good ideas for this grazing, nervous eating urge? Maybe starting protien shakes again? I haven't done them alot since hitting goal last year. Thanks guys!

Topic: RE: Help with foods/recipe websites
HI Barry!
I would suggest going to one of the forums that people are over a year out or so..not that someone on this one wouldn't know but they have been there done that sort of thing and you would probably get MORE information that you can even handle!! Best of luck to you!!! You can do it...my brother is 6 months out as well and I know he struggles too but I don't think he has found any websites to help (and probably hasn't looked as he is not internet savvy) If you find these out please pass the info onto us new losers!!!
