I'm doing very well weight/wise since my surgery. I've lost and kept off just over 160 pounds since my highest weight (a few months before my surgery). Life's more active and more intense at 190 than it was at 350+. My weight is in an ideal range, but it would be nice to pack on some more muscle mass. On the down side, my new more active life has resulted in a couple major injuries. Need to get back into my exercise routines, but taking it easy as I'm recovering from a motorcycle accident. I feel good about having kept my weight down even though I was down for a while with a couple injuries.
I'm not always upbeat, despite losing the weight. I'm learning to deal with life's strong emotions with out feeding them. I agree with others here that it's easy to slip into old habits.
Those who have been following my story, theshumgirl (my dear wife) also had RNY 2 weeks after me. She is doing great! having lost 100 lbs. One of our biggest problems these days is deciding which exciting life option we want to take on. Life seems to be filled with so many options that we can now choose from. Our options haven't really changed that much, just our perspective has.
It's been a dynamic 2 years. I hit my revised goal of 150 pounds about a year ago and now stand at 145 pounds with a 26-27 inch waist and wearing S-M shirts, for a total weight loss of 235 pounds with 185 lost since surgery. Also, as of last September, I have moved abroad to the Philippines, where a healthy and active lifestyle is the norm. The way I live my life now will, hopefully, ensure continued success through the rest of my life.
Well, guys, gotta get back out there. Continued success to everyone.
