Question about Spouses
So, how is everyone's spouse handling the weight loss? My surgeon told my husband that one of two things would happen - he would either eat everything I didn't and gain weight. Or he would start eating more like me and lose. Well, my husband went for the latter and has lost 59 pounds. And he did not even have surgery!! Anyway, I am really proud of him. I posted a before and after of him on my site. Also, I posted my 6 month pictures. (I have lost 69 pounds) I also posted a before and after picture on a sideview. Even now, after the weight loss, it is still totally humiliating.
You guys are awesome having success together. This has been so important for my DW and I, although we both had surgery. We all know the true changes come from changing lifestyle, and it sounds like you guys are doing well with that aspect. It is so important to pull together post-surgery and in general in a marriage.

I think my husband is happy about the weight loss and what it has done for my body, mind and soul. I think he has put on a few pounds and I notice his plate of food has been heaping lately... I keep telling him to cut out the soda and he will lose (he lost weight 2 years ago when he started working a more physical job). On the relationship side of things, he is getting to be more suspicious of male friends or men that I talk to in general... I had a feeling that would happen. But I guess I probably put him through the same thing a few years ago when he lost weight... anyone else having jealousy issues?
Amie
HELLO ALL WELL MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN QUITE DIFFERENT HE BECAME SICK 1 WEEK AFTER I HAD MY SUGERY SOME SAY I BROUGHT IT ALL ON BUT WHO KNOWS EXCEPT HE HAS GERD ACID REFLUX AND ESPAGUS ERROSION, AND A HYAIDAL HERNIA THAT HE HAS BEEN LIVING WITH BUT NEVER COMPLAINED UNTIL I HAD SUGERGY SOME SAY THAT IT WAS THE ATTENTION BUT I TRULLY DON'T BELEIVE THAT OH YEAH AND HIGH BP. HE HAS LOST 38 # AND REALLY DID NOT NEED TO HE IS KINDA TOO SKINNY NOW! BUT THE WHOLE THING BEHIND ME LOOSING AT FIRST HE REALLY DIDN'T LIKE IT BUT I THOUGHT HE WAS COMING AROUND UNTIL I PUT ON A REALLY TIGHT PAIR OF JEANS THE OTHER DAY AND WOW THE MONSTER CAME OUT OF HIM AND SAID YOU NEED TO LOOSE 20 OR 30 MORE TO WEAR THOSE JEANS I WAS SO UPSET I STILL HAVEN'T REALLY SPOKEN TO HIM ABOUT IT! I KINDA TOOK OFF THE JEANS AND PUT THEM TO THE BACK OF THE CLOSET I WILL TRY THEM AGAIN IN 2 WEEKS AND ALONE THIS TIME!!!! I STILL DON'T REALLY GET IT IS HE HAPPY FOR ME OR NOT I THINK NOT HE NEVER WANTED ME TO HAVE IT DONE. SO I GUESS MAYBE THAT WILL NOT CHANGE! i AM SOOOOOO HAPPY I HAD THIS DONE THOUGH IT WAS FOR ME NO ONE ELSE I NEEDED TO BECOME A HEALTHY PERSON AND I DO BELEIVE I HAVE DONE THAT! BYE FOR NOW SHIRLEY
Well, it sounds as if he may be a little jealous or insecure. And hey, as for the tight jeans, at least you got them on. You probably couldn't have done that 6 months ago. And in a few more months, you will be able to wear them comfortably. It is amazing how fast the body shrinks. Prior to surgery, I bought a size 8 pair of pants. I couldn't get them past my knees. Six months later, I wear them to work. So don't worry about your husband. As long as you feel good about yourself, that is all that matters.
Hi,
I like your idea of buying a pair of pants that are smaller and shrinking in to them. That sounds like fun. I was at the good will a week or two ago and I tried on a size 20, (I started at a 30-32) they didn't fit I was so bummed so I put them back because I was depressed that they didn't fit, I am not sure exactly what size I wear because I was given several pairs of pants by my sister and they have no tags in them. So I guess I was being a little optimistic. I should have just bought them anyways and shrunk into them. Oh well I am sure I will be even smaller than that when I am done so next time I see a pair of 20's or 18's I think I will buy them if I like them and shrink down into them. Thanks for the idea.
