Hey Gang, It has been an uphill battle for me. I fell and broke my foot on the 4th of July {slipped in the rain going to an Astros game}! Then the walking boot my dr. has me in the strap broke on August 8th, and I fell down the stairs at home, and broke my toe on the same foot. I am so disgusted, and don't know what to do. I have been a slow loser, and need to exercise to help my tool along. I'm looking at possible foot surgery, and I have no idea how long recovery will be. I have not been getting in my protein, however I have kicked up my water, and vitamin intake. My hair has starting falling out like crazy. I had to get it all cut off Last week due to this, and every time I wa**** even more falls out! I wish more people posted on this board of their up's and downs since this surgery! My numbers: Highest weight: 412 lbs. Day of Consult 11/22/06 Day of Approval: 395 lbs. 03/19/07 Day of Surgery: 386 lbs. 03/26/07 Current as of July 26th: 333 lbs. Loss since surgery: 53 lbs. Total loss: 79 lbs.

Hi Dave! Today's my 5 month surgiversary. I started at 286 on Feb 1 when I first met with my surgeon, 270 on surgery day and today I am 191. My goal is 145-150. My bloodwork is good and I'm working out and getting healthy. Thanks for bringing up this topic. It's a nice thing to look back and see how far we've all come in such a short while. I feel like a new person. Mag

I had my surgery on March 15, 2007. Highest 302 lbs. Surgery weight 298 lbs. Todays weight 220 lbs. Lost since surgery 78 lbs. I am 5'10.5" I feel great physically and emotionally. I still have some head hunger but my tummy keeps it under control...also everything tastes different to me now...so alot of food doesn't even taste good. Which is good because it controls my food hunger too. Good luck everyone.

Date of Surgery Weight: 220.6 Today's Weight: 155.8 Total Lost: 64.8 pounds To go: 35.2 pounds To go until normal on the BMI chart: 19.8 pounds Starting size 18/20+/ 1x or 2x Current Size: 12-14/L I have had a sinus infection for the last 10 days, so I have not been exercising. I finally went back to the doctor and got some heavy duty antibiotics and am already feeling better and ready to hit the gym tomorrow. My hair is falling out like crazy, but it was really thick to start. I have always had naturally curly, big bar hair and I like it now that it's a lot thinner. My stomach is a little saggy, as are my boobs. Not so attractive naked, that's for sure!!!!! But I am healthy and, for the first time in a long time, I feel really good about myself.

hi, i don't post often either. but like everyone else, i'm always around here are my stats: had surgery 3/19-304 lbs 5'4 inches tall. current weight as of 08/05/2007-224 lbs ttl weight loss-80 lbs!! i feel so much better!! ppl are actually using my name and the word "little" in the same sentence........weird. i hope to be under 200 lbs,by the end of september. I haven't worked out in the past 2 weeks like i should and as soon as i get over a mild illness, i'm going to get back on top of it. I've had braids for about 2 mths, so you guys are scaring me about the hair loss. i'm really terrified!!! hopefully it all won't fall to the ground when i take my hair down, because i don't do like i should with the protein. i'm trying though.

I feel great since surgery! Off ALL diabetes, cholesterol and anxiety meds. and only taking vitamins now. I am 5'10.5 Highest weight was 336. Day home from hospital 300. Today 226. BMI was 47.5 now 32.1! I can eat all meats and haven't thrown up yet. Ice cream makes me feel icky if I eat more than 4 bites. I can have sweets in small portions and only do so occasionally. I aim for 70 grams of protein a day and get a minimum of 60. I really do eat to live now and not live to eat.

Hi everybody! I was five months out yesterday, and here are my stats: Preop weight: 308 Current weight: 215 For a total loss of 93 pounds. I am now in a solid size 18. I am almost 5'5" and my goal is 140 according to my doctor. I go to Curves at lunchtime three times per week, and I swim twice a week. I found that I do indeed dump, so I am very careful with carbs and fatty foods. My hair has also been falling out, and since I have very fine, thin hair I got it cut to shoulder length, dyed it darker on the bottom, and use products to enhance its natural waviness. I think I look like I have more hair now than before. I still do a protein shake in the morning because I don't do breakfast foods very well, and my lunch is typically a high-protein Lean Cuisine, Healthy Choice or leftovers. Dinner is always very light, because I have trouble if I go to bed and I have food in the pouch. I am feeling excellent and look forward to many more months of positive changes.
