That is totally awesome... you most definitely deserve a round of applause for such a great accomplishment! If you don't mind, I'd sure like to ask you for some advice. I noticed that we have the same surgery date of 3/26/07 and I've only lost 54 lbs as of yesterday. I weighed 266 lbs the day of surgery, and I sure thought I would have lost more weight by now. I talked to my surgeon yesterday and he said that I was doing great and that I need to keep doing what I'm doing and that as long as I'm still losing I shouldn't worry. But I can't help but worry that I'll never reach my goal weight of 165 lbs at this rate. I would just like to know what kinds of food you've been eating and how much excercise have you done to lose so much so quickly? Did you count calories and measure your food portions? Did you keep track of protein, carbs, sugars, etc? Any advice you can give would surely be appreciated!

Hey ya Hidy, I contribute my rapid and substantial weight loss to not eating......I do not measure anything, I never throw up..You have to know your limits and keep changing up your diet. I eat pizza, 2 or 3 bites. everything I eat is bite size, no measuring, I even tolerate sugar o.k. I think you really have to be in tune with your body and everything should be really small portions. Over eating is not good at all. I have a hard time drinking the protein shakes and water. Every morning I force down a shake, sometimes I only have 1 shake a day sometimes I don't even have one. Nobody goes through this perfect o.k. My surgeon told me that it is o.k. not to eat if you do not have an appetite, just make sure you are getting your protein in, after 1 year the weight loss stops, so i am trying to lose as much as i can now. I am taking biotin for hair loss...It is a great vitamin and I suggest you add that to your vitamin everday. I don't want to give medical advice, because I am not a doctor, but I do not eat if I am not hungry. Stay away from the carbs and you will see it melt off quicker. Good luck to you Hidy....Kathy

Way to go!! Feels great!!! My waist is now down 14 inches (52 in to 38 in I just bought last weekend), and just had a Dr.'s appointment where he told me I've lost 100 lbs. (I count since my highest weight of 350, where as he counts from my first visit to his office) I'm now at 232, and feeling great.. I've gotten off of the exercise train the past few weeks, and need to seriously ramp up!!! --Dave 350/232/205

Hello fellow March-ers! Congrats to everyone for their losses!! Feels great doesn't it!! It shouldn't be about the number on the scale for those who feel discouraged. Remember losing is losing and it is so much better than gaining (which is something we are all so used to). I was at my PCP's office on Monday, and their scale showed my total lbs. lost as 86 pounds...yippee!! I never weigh at home, only at surgeon's or PCP's ofc. I include my pre-op loss too, even though it was just 17 pounds---but hey...I lost it!!! My hair is starting to fall out too. I always lose hair because it is thick. However, it is coming out more and more. I have been taking 1000 mcg of Biotin since 6 weeks out. My protein is probably not as good as it could be in terms of consistency on a daily basis, but it is okay. My labs at 3 month post-op were 'perfect' according to doc. Well-continued luck to all!! Keep up the good work!! Hugs, Lora P.S.-By the way...I exercise by walking 3 miles everyday and wear wrist weights. I have only missed 3 days in 6 weeks!! Those were due to illness.

Congrats! I'm down 86 lbs and I am sure it will pick up even more when I excercise. Life has been so crazy with work and family that I haven't been able to get to the gym. This week I am making it a priority to get to the gym so I can tone up and lose more. We are all doing so well! Keep up the good work everyone! Amie
