Hair Loss
Hi. My name is Alyssa. I had bypass surgery almost 5 mos. ago. For the last month I have been loosing handfuls of hair every day. I had really thick hair before and now it is really thin. I have been taking flax seed oil every day but it doesn't seem to help. I'm lactose intolerent and the protein shakes make me sick. I know that the problem is that I'm not getting enough protein (I try to but I can't seem to eat enough). Does anyone know if there is a protein pill that I can take? I would appriciate any help I can get. Thanks.
Hi Alyssa
Have you tried the Protica bullets? 25 grams of protein in 2.9 ozs. I have used them every day since one week out when I realized there was absolutely NO WAY I would be able to drink those shakes. Believe me. I tried almost every one out there (alot of wasted money and liquid protein down the drain!) I can however tolerate the protica and have also used Isopure-bottles. (GNC/Vitamin Shoppe) Neither involves lactose, so I think you'll be ok. I also have the problem with hair loss- UUGG!! Fortunately, not as bad as some, but still it's happening I'm just following everyone's advice (protein/vitamins) and hoping it doesn't last long.
good luck!
My hair is falling out too. Everytime I take a shower or brush my hair it's everywhere. So far I haven't noticed a huge amount in the way my hair looks...but I can tell it will eventually. From what I have heard from my doctors and support group...there isn't anything you can do about your hair falling out. Some people say there are other vitamins or shampoos to use and that it worked for them...but I think they were just lucky to not have alot of hair fall out. Some people lose alot some don't lose hardly any. I don't think it hurts to try the different remedies though...some people just like to feel like they are doing something about it. One thing I have heard alot is that dying your hair a darker color will fluff it up and make it healtheir. My grey is creeping out so I'm gonna do that anyway. While I've got the hair I don't want it grey! I just try and think about how great I feel and look in my body and just toss my hair into a pony tail. Good luck!
