Stall??
omg yes!!! i'm usually a lurker here, i never hardly post, but i just had to let you know that i'm going through this right now!!! i had surgery on 3/19, and for the past almost two week i been going up and down between 2 to 3 lbs!!! i'm about to lose my mind. i even considered going back on liquids this coming monday. i feel like such a failure!! hopefully this will pass for the both of us.
I am right there with you!!! I had surgery 3/13 and have had the same 2-3 lbs up/down this past week. It's driving me crazy. That's so funny that you mentioned going to liquids because I had the exact same thought. At least we're not alone. Let me know if you find the secret to breaking this stall!!
Lauren
I have had the same thing going on. My surgery was on 3/5/07 and this last month I only lost 4 pounds. I have been up 2 down 2 for 3 weeks & I am too getting frustrated. I know that I am doing everything right and exercising, so it has to eventually start moving again. It is good to hear that others are going through the same thing- I thought I was the only one going crazy about this! Lets all keep on with the good work! Janna
Oh yes, I stall all the time. My first stall was like 2 or 3 months in. This past month I only lost 6 pounds. Of course, I eat a lot. I have no problems with any food and my appetite is quite large. Sometimes that is depressing, but you just have to hang in there. I try to look at factors beside weight. For example, I now run 2-3 miles every day - couldn't do that before!
I don't know if it's a 4 month thing but I went like 3 weeks with no loss! It stunk to say the least! I started really watching what I ate to make sure I wasn't eating too little (who ever thought I'd say that!) on www.sparkpeople.com and i****ches my proteins and stuff. I am still in the zone so I know the weightloss has to start up again! I have decided to weight myself only once a month so we'll see on August 16th - can it come here soon???!!!!
Just stay the course - you are doing great!
I am having a stall (lose and gain same 2 pounds cycle) too and my surgery was 3/26. My nutritionist said it's "normal" for the loss to slow down now. I find if I increase my calories a little I start to lose again. I was eating about 800 calories and couldn't lose so I went up to 1000. It worked, now I may try for 1100 for a few days and see what happens. I track everything I eat at fit day.
Also, average out how much weight you have lost since surgery by how many weeks it's been-I guarantee it will be more per week than you have lost on past "diets" without feeling hungry. Be proud of what you have accomplished and know it's going to come off!
Good luck!
