Time for a roll call folks
Wondering how my fellow March buddies are doing this week. How much have you lost so far. Have you ran into any stalls along the way.
I have now lost 51 lbs. 1/2 of my excess weight. Yippie. I have had 3 stalls along the way that lasted 7 to 10 days. Currently I am losing about an average of 2 lbs per week. What about you?
Brenda
I am currently on a stall, the first one that I know about. I am not quite 1/2 way yet but I am working on it.
Even though I say I on stall....I am losing inches! I am finally allowed to be up and moving around so I am getting some muscle instead of fat cells. But I will start losing again....soon I hope
Hello everyone. My name is Chris D., I had my surgery on March 19th. I had gastric bypass RNY. I have been reading everyones post and never taken the time to post a reply. So I thought it would be nice to join the community. On the day of the surgery I weighed 378 lbs. As of yesturday morning I weighed 278.4lbs. YIPPEE. 100 lbs in 3 1/2 months. My diet consists of protien (New Whey 25g shots), lots of watermelon. I like bean burritos from taco bell about 3 a week. It takes me usually 45 minutes to an hour to finish one. Almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds. Water with Crystal Light in it. My favorite drink is Vitamin Water and Sobe Life Water. I don't do well with chicken, tuna and most breads. I can tolerate shell fish and ground beef. I don't eat pork. No greasy foods. Sometimes I might have a scoop of Bryers Sugar Free ice cream.
Its funny, sometimes I can eat like normal, foods that are within my boundries of my diet and have no uneasyness. Other times, as I eat the same foods, as I take a bite, I can feel it not agreeing with me. I try to eat 3 times a day. I usually snack on watermelon and almonds. I wear a stop watch (still to this day) around my neck and it reminds to eat every 3 hours, otherwise I will forget until I get super hungry.
I do not work out yet. My doctor ask me to wait 6 months before lifting. Only do cardio around my home and work.
Its amazing how much more energy I have. My wife and I have four kids, all under the age of 8. Now I have no problems keeping up with them. Went to Sea World and didn't have a problem getting on the ride Atlantis. WOW, such a relief knowing how better the quality of life is.
I hope everyone is doing well with thier programs and I ask that we don't forget where we came from. I now I won't.
Best regards,
Chris D.
I just discovered the March 07 board tonight (still learning my way around here...). So, "Hi, all!"
I had my RNY on 3-05-07, started at 290.6, and down 61 pounds so far. I've had a number of discouraging plataeus, but I'm on a roll now with 15lbs lost in the past 2 weeks (I stepped up the workouts). I'm off my diabetes medication (which was one of my most longed-for goals! Yippee!) and I feel better than I've felt since....heck, I don't know when!
You guys are all doing just wonderfully! I like the "roll call" thing...seeing where my "comrades" are in their own journeys and cheering & coaching one another along. Supportive environment you have here...I mean to make it a point to check in with you all regularly!
