Time for a roll call.
Now with Lora and Dorean checking in I am officially the slowest loser. Ahhh, I don't mind. I am happy I am actually losing. I never thought it would work that well for me.
You all are doing great. I read some where that a lot of doctors like you to be at the 35% loss ( of your excess weight) at 3 months. Most of you are half way there plus more.
I have had 2 stalls so far. For almost 9 days I lost nothing. That was depressing. Gotta stay away from those scales don't I.

Congrats on your weight lost! I feel fabulous...most days. That is truly the honest answer. Some days are better than others, and I don't know how much of that is regular life happening, and how much of it has to being post-surgery RNY.
Don't forget that we're not here on the board to have some kind of contest. If we were, the folks with the most initial weight to lose will eventually beat us all out. I think we're all here to give a hand when someone else needs it, or grab a hand when we need it.
This past week I passed the 100 lbs mark since my highest weight. I've lost 75 since my surgery and 102 since my highest weight. Jodell is now in the 50-60 lbs lost range. My life is changing in the weight arena, so now I'm gearing up to make positive improvements to the rest of my life.
Stay positive as you close in on goal:

Hey Gang,
I have lost 46 lbs since surgery, and 72 lbs total. I am doing great, and loving life. I still have about 154 lbs to loose. I'm ok with being a slow looser until I get on this dang board and read everyone else weight lost for the month. I dump on everything, and I'm tired of it. Any type of juice, even sugar free stuff. The sugar alcohol get to me. I love going to the gym ,and working out for an hour 3 or 4 times a week. However, I'm happy with my results, and knowing that everyone looses at a different pace. I'm wishing the best of luck to everyone!
Hugs,
Lesley
Hi, all --- this is my first posting on this forum. Down 54 pounds since my surgery date (3-05-07), 101 to get to goal (starting weight 291 lbs). I've had a couple of plateaus and have found that exercise is key for me. I'm not going to lose if I don't move. I believe that I have the metabolism of a corpse.
I have been so incredibly fortunate thusfar. No complications to speak of...no dumping...minor food issues (seafood) that have disappeared, no strictures or infections and the like. I do have a little hair-loss (despite taking Biotin) and have had a handful of moderate to severe dizzy spells which may or may not be related to the WLS. But, my energy level is through the roof, I'm off my diabetes medication, I've dropped at least 2 sizes, I'm working out semi-regularly (room for improvement) and people are noticing. While my progress may not be as dramatic as some others, I really cannot complain!
You ALL sound like you are doing SPECTACULARLY well! I know what this means to all of you...you should all feel very proud of your progress. I'm proud of you all!
I had surgery 3/13 and have lost 55 pounds, 45 to go. I feel absolutely great - I have so much energy and I'm a RUNNER again. Well - I only run for 30 minutes/day, but I worked up from 20 minutes. So far, I have not had any trouble with any type of food. I have not tried anything real sugary, but I have had ground beef and different fruits with no problems. I am so glad I had this surgery!
Hi all,
I had surgery on March 6th with a start weight of 286 and now weigh 203, for a loss of 83lbs, only 40 left to go...woo hoo! The big milestone for me will be in 2 more pounds I will no longer be obese, but overweight. I have never wanted to be overweight so much in my life
Even with my big loss I don't feel much different than I did before surgery. I have more cardiovascular stamina but don't feel like I had major surgery.
My hair loss has begun this week. Really sucks. I have lost so much hair in just this past 10 days or so. I also dump on almost all fruit and eggs just don't work for me anymore. Other than that I eat low carb, high protein, low fat and it is pretty routine for me now.
Overall feeling good like most of us and looking forward to a healthier future.
Hugs
Hi everyone, Melissa here from CT. I don't post as often as I lurk here but I do enjoy reading this group with people who are close to my surgery date.
I had RNY 3/15/07. The day of surgery I was 339 lbs, today I am 257, so I've lost 82 lbs, and if I am to reach my fantasy goal of 155 lbs I have 102 lbs left to lose.
I feel mostly like a normal person except when eating of course! I dump bad on sugar or even sugar free stuff if it has sugar alcohols so I have to read labels closely.
I'm averaging 500 cals a day now which is an improvement for me and I still struggle to get in enough water daily but have been improving on that and get in at least 6 glasses now, sometimes more. And I never forget my vitamins.
I have not exercised yet and need to figure out a way to get motivated and start.
And that's about it!
