Can we have a roll call. I feel like a slow loser
Hi, normally I post on the main message boards. I thought I would start posting a little in the March surgery dates board. So how much have you all lost and how much do you have to go.
I have lost 44 lbs. I have 56 more pounds until goal. Things really have slowed lately. Seems like I loose for a week and a half and then I am done until the following month. Anyone else like this.

Hi there,
I am 3 months post op as of tomorrow. I have lost 60 pounds. I have no appetite, but I have no troubles with foods. I just don't feel like eating most of the time. I do though to make sure I get in my protein and water. Last week was a slow week but I kind of expected it because I lost over 6 pounds the week before. I have gone from a size 22 to a size 14 (some 12's!!!!) in 13 weeks. I exercise about an hour to an hour and a half everyday. I have 53 pounds left to lose. Life is fabulous!
We all lose at different rates. It sound slike you are doing fine to me! Keep plugging along - you'll get there!

i had surgery on mar. 27. i have lost 30lbs. (40 if you wanna include the pre-op loss)...i'm feeling like it's coming off very slow and sporadically...like i'll lose 3-5lbs. after a fill then even out, maybe lose 1-2 lbs over a week or two...then nothing. it's frustrating, but at least it's coming off right??!! i know i look better and feel better, so i'm focusing on that and trying to follow the rules (which i often forget, and that's probably why things are slow-going) good luck to everyone, and we'll get there!!!!!!

Hey Bernie,
I went through a 2 week plateau, but nothing like you described. It doesn't seem illogical though that you might lose slower than others. My total excess body weight was 160 versus your 100 and sometimes the fatter folks lose more in the beginning. You're almost at the halfway mark! Congratulations!

Hi, Brenda...I had surgery on 3/27 and have lost 53 pounds. I feel slow too but i think there are a few things at play. One, as stated, is that people who are more obese tend to lose faster at the beginning. My BMI was 54 when i started, just to help you gauge this. Second, if you have more muscle, that might take longer to break down. Then it's a question of protien, fluids and exercise but that you probably already knew. You're doing really well! Just keep it up.
Best of luck to you,
Sadie
Hey Gang,
I have stopped weighing it was soooo depressing. The last I weight was May 3rd I had lost 34 lbs since surgery, and a total of 58 since consult. I will get on the scale on June 26 my three month surgery anniversary. I'm sure I'm doing ok now but I will only weight once a month because that is too hard on me to weight daily, and weekly. I wishing all the March babies luck!
Hugs,
Lesley
Hi Marchies!!!
My surgery was March 5th and I am down 85 lbs (I need to figure out
how to change my ticker) I will probably start losing slower
now, because I am trying to up my calorie intake. I had dizzy
spells for a couple of days, which scared the crap out of me. I
don't eat much, probably too little. But trying to work on that.
Also, my thyroid levels are a little higher than most of you guys
probably, due to me having thryroid cancer in 2004. My onocologist
wants my levels higher, so the cancer doesn't return. I'm sure
that plays a big part in it. .......Dorean
Thanks for all the replies. It does help to see others losing at a slower rate. I was not a big eater before surgery but I had a real slow metabolism. I think that has something to do with the slow losing.
Dorean, you are a champion. Maybe increasing your calories will actually help you lose faster. Good luck girl
