NOT LOSING
I had my band in March and the scale has stopped. I have been working out. I can eat anything. I have been filled but I feel like I have not had surgery at all. I am getting so tempted to eat. This weekend I ate a whole ham and cheese sandwich. Now I know I shouldn't be able to eat that!! I see my dr today and I am so scared to get on the scale there. I know he will not be happy with me. Is there anyone out there that is having this problem?
If you feel you are able to eat too much you may need another fill. I was banded March 5 and got my first fill at 6 weeks. My dr. told me to come back in 3 months but within 3 weeks I was eating a whole sandwich and not really feeling full. So, I called much sooner than the 3 months and requested another fill. It can take several fills to get to the right level of restriction. Good luck to you.
Depends on your surgeon, but Dr Green will do fills (if needed) at 1 month postop and again at 2 months postop. Don't be scared... if you need a fill, ask for one
Bands don't work without regular fills. Most people don't know that the fluid in the band seeps out over time, causing you to be able to eat more over time... it's an unfortunate fact... the membrane is permeable, meaning the water is meant to seep out over time and require filling again and again. Even after goal weight is reached, the membrane loses water and you can regain.
