Hey gang, I was wondering how is your weight loss going? I'm only losing 4 lbs a week since the 4th week. My first two week I lost 16 lbs now at 8 weeks out I've only lost 32 lbs. I even only lost 1 lbs two weeks ago but it was that time of the month. Now don't get me wrong this is wonderful I'm just worried I'm going to be a slow loser, and becuase I have so much to lose I'm worried my honeymoon will be over, and I'm still going to be FAT dare I say that about myself!!! I'm just really scared. I started out 412 lbs, and the day of surgery I was 386 lbs, now I'm 354 lbs. I have lost a total of 58 lbs. If your doing really well do tell your success story. I hope to kick up my water intake that is the second biggest problem I'm having. The first being that I can't eat food. I'm having an EGD Dilation done Tuesday morning at 7:00 am. Thanks for sharing any advice is welcome! Lesley

4 lbs a week sounds great to me!! I lost 15 before surg and at one month a post op I had lost 26 lbs. Total of 41 lbs. Past 4 weeks "nothing". Talking about discouraging. Sounds like you are doing great. Keep up the good work.

Thanks so much I think I have just gotten caught up with everyone else number's and not appreciating my own number's. Hey 41 lbs is great you keep up the great work. What do you think is the cause to the four week plateu.

4 pounds per week sounds great to me! I will be 2 months post op on MOnday and as of right now I have 43 pounds. I think by then I should lose another pound making it 44 pounds. I am averaging about 4 pounds per week too. Good Luck, Robin

Leslie, I know your frustration in wanting to be skinny sooner, especially with summer just around the corner! You need to be proud of that 58 pounds!!!! I've lost a total of 71 pounds. I had a big drop initially, but over the last 10 weeks or so I've lost an average of 2.25 pounds a week. I would say that it would be safe for you to expect your weight lost per week to slow down, and I think that's OK. If you are like me, you must be so glad to not be carrying that extra weight. I'm a math nerd so I hope the following equation is true: Slower weight loss = Less likely I'll need plastic surgery! Glad to hear you're doing well in the "biggest loser" club. --Dave

That is really great if you think about what you are losing. Take 4 lbs times 52 weeks and you should get 208 lbs. Wouldn't that be a feat. I think you are doing sooooo good. I am also at about that rate now, somewhere between 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 a week and my group counseler was quick to point out what that meant in a year. Aren't we blessed? Keep up the good work. I a now 9 weeks post op and have lost 54 lbs. my self but it is at about the rate you are losing to so it is all good. Bill R

Thanks for pointing that out. I have never looked at it from that point of view. My God if I lost 208 in a year I would be sooooooo BLESSED! That is about how much I wanted to loose total. Please keep up the good work. I have stopped weighing every week. It's too depressing. I pray that we all keep up the good work.
