Hey everyone, I had my surgery on March 22, 07. I have lost a total of 34.4 pounds as of this morning. I am just wondering if this is normal. Am I going slow, fast, just right? How is everyone else doing? I feel much better, and I know that I have never in my life lost this much weight in a short time, but it just seems like it is coming off slower than I thought it would. I dont know maybe I am just whining, but it seems wierd to me. Thanks for listening.

Hi Mary, I know how you feel, but my doctor says I am doing great and right on schedule. You are doing better then me. I've lost 30 so far. Congrats on your loss. Wanda

Oh yeah, Girls??? I had mine on 3/19 and lost 20lbs. Feel better? LOL The Dr. also feels that this is OK. The truth is that I would never be able to have lost this amt. in a month...so I'll take it and be happy. We have to stop comparing weight loss with everyone elses. It's self defeating. Just keep your eyes on the prize! Good Luck to all of us. Take Care~~ Diane

Diane, You are totally right. We were talking about this in our support group last night as a matter of fact. Everybody's experience will vary widely. We have to keep in mind that our success shouldn't be measured by our weight loss but progress towards our goals. Of course weight loss is a primary goal, but so is feeling better and more energetic, and I can tell you that I am definitely improving in both of those categories. Not to mention the fact that I'm off Diabetes meds and CPAP!!! My experience has been that I lost a ton during the first three week liquid phase but have plateaued since. No worries though, I know it will start coming off again any day now, and I feel great I'm down 42 pounds from my peak weight of 297 and I can walk three miles now! Mike Bialowitz, Columbia, SC

HI There, We are just about in the same place. I had my surgery on March 21st and have lost 35.2 pounds so far. I am very pleased. I have dropped form 22's and 20's down to a very comfortable size 16. My hubby calls me the incredible shrinking woman, which cracks me up everytime he says it. You're doing great! So keep doing whatever you're doing! Good Luck, Robin

Hey, I had my surgery 3/21 and have lost 32.5 so far. I had my follow-up with my doctor last week and he said right on schedule. I have found that I have slowed down but it will come off - just keep moving and remember to measure success in other ways too -- not just by what the scale says. I have lost at least 3 dress sizes (was a 22W and am now getting into my 14W's), can get into my thinner clothes and they are now getting to big on me I have already had to buy a new pair of jeans and will soon need a swimsuit, which is never any fun but it should be better than before. Remember that sometimes when you're not losing pounds, you're losing inches. --Lori
