5 week update

Hi all, Well I was going to post a one month update but I am behind in everything. Tomorrow I hit 5 weeks. I'm eating well - getting in my protein with the help of my protein shake in the morning. I need to work on vitamins and exercise. Although I did attend my first step aerobics class this week. So it's a start at least. I have lost a total of 29.5lbs so far -- woo hoo! But my biggest news this week is that last weekend I had to go buy a new pair of jeans The jeans I had were just way too big and falling off - literally. I was a size 20W before the surgery and I got into a size 16W and I could have gotten into a 14W but they were just tighter than I like. I'm so excited! That was so much better than seeing any weight loss on the scale. I'm just so excited because I'm thinking within a few more months I will be able to go to the Misses department instead of the Women's department -- gonna have to take pictures for the scrapbook. That means I'll have to tear up my Lane Bryant card -- LOL. My hubby comes home from deployment sometime before June so any weight loss will be great. He's wondering what I will look like at homecoming. I told him that I might have to make a sign saying "Honey, here I am". I can definately tell the weight loss as I'm starting to feel bones that I have NEVER felt before -- I told my husband today when he called - "I have collar and shoulder bones!" -- he laughed. I have just never been able to feel them. Thank you all for letting me share with you. --Lori

Hi Lori. Congrats on your weight loss. Don't worry...your hubby would know who you are no matter how thin you get. There is so much for you to be excited about. Yaaaaaaaaaay! Take Care~~ Diane

Congrats on the success. I've been able to do some shopping at a regular store, and it has been nice. It's fun to have a smaller size, and more choices. I took one of my old suits to the tailor, and was advised I had shrunk so much that they couldn't alter my jacket and have it look right on me. Since I don't desperately need a new suit right now, I'm going to wait until I lose alot more weight before buying a new one!

That is awesome Lori!!!! Way to go!!! I bet that feels so exciting! I remember when I lost weight once in highschool and I was walking down the street with my hands in my pockets of my jeans and I felt something sticking out and I stopped because I didn't realize it was my HIPS! It was an awesome feeling so I am sure you are so proud of yourself right now and you should be!!! Congrats! Rita
