I don't think you can get 100% whey proteins and if you did they would taste awful. Most protein products for fitness and health contain aspartame, you'd really have to be careful to get one with splenda. The debates on aspartame continue to rage, but fact is it's in most protein shakes. I don't understand what your nutritionist means by "Make up" an ingredient.

Hi Susan- I have a lot of 100% whey protein at home. I bought mine at GNC and unjury is also a good source. Plus, ispoures have 100% whey. The difference in the shots (according to my NUT) is that this isn't the best form of protein. They use a sub-standard protein form in the bullets as opposed to the purest form (100% whey). She said that if I wanted to try them on a limited basis after 8 months, that would be fine. But, for now, it's critical that my body gets the purest form for absorption and healing. This is just her medical opinion. I'm sure each surgeon and nutritionist do things a little differently. Good luck! Mag

I just gave away $30 worth of EAS protein hakes, couldn't keep one of them down, YUCK! I was on medifast once and I think that being on shakes for 6 months probably had something to do with it. I just couldn't take it anymore. Even the smell made me sick. Good thing there are so many choices!!!! Can't do Stacker 2 either, even though it has 45 grams of protein. My nutritionist gave me a whole bunch of samples to try. Mostly I am just trying to eat enough food to make it work. I feel like an atkins prodigy but it is working better and I am not throwing up anymore. Madison

Hi Madison - lovely name. I'm sorry you didn't like EAS. Must be honest and say I tried an old myoplex yesterday and battled with it. Isopure I find destablises very quickly, although the taste is still bearable. At the moment I'm using USN which is quite thin, and with an added little bit of decaf coffee for flavouring is quite palatable. I think you're really going to have to WORK to get your protein in normally. Remember you can't count say a 250g steak as 250g protein. It's not. I don't have a protein counter with me, so I can't give you the exact amoung, but basically you might have to eat more than your tum can accommodate, which is why protein shakes are the best way to go. Have you tried the ones that taste like juice (so they say). At least they're thinner and a bit more palatabl.
