has anyone noticed your loss yet?
I have not noticed anything at all. My family keeps telling me that they notice a difference in my face and my mid section. When I went to the Dr 1 week post op I had lost 11 lbs. Now I am almost 3 weeks post op and I only lost 1 more according to my home scale. My aunt told me not to go by my scale only the one at my Dr's office. I know I am doing what I am supposed to do so I wonder if my surgery failed. I am praying that I have not allowed myself to get excited and expecting a miracle just to be disappointed. I want to lose the rest of the weight so bad. I started Pilates for buns and abs...IT HURTS.....but I can live with it. I did more than 1/2 of Billy Blanks Cardio Boot Camp dvd yesterday. I am going to be on a workout kick because I want this weight off. I know Rome was not built in a day..but I feel as though my extra weight was built in 2 days so I want it off in 7....
I had surgery on March 6th and I have lost 48lbs. My starting weight was 286. The family that lives in my house has barely noticed a difference but friends and family who I don't see everyday have definitely noticed. I guess I expected the "wow" factor and it is just not there yet .
The funny thing is that _I_ do not see a change. First off I realized my clothes must have been WAY too tight before surgery because I can still wear them, they are loose but they are still wearable. I look in the mirror and don't see a difference. It is very strange. I went shopping and picked up size 16's and 18's and couldn't figure out why they were fitting. I have taken measurements and must look smaller because of all the inches just don't see it myself. It some some physiological disorder, lol. I'm not a self-deprecating person so it really has me stumped.
Anyone else notice they are having this problem?

Omg, I was dying laughing at you. I feel the same way! I said that to myself today. I must have really been uncomfortable in these clothes before surgery b/c now they are loose but I can still wear them and the last I checked I was down 33 lbs!! I had surgery on 03/19 and weighed in at 304, I have ppl telling me they can see it in my face. I can't wait until I see my mom Saturday. She lives in another state than I do, so I can see what she says.
I've lost 60 pounds, and just went back to work about a week ago. Many people claim they have a hard time recognizing me because I've lost so much weight. Another co-worker told me "We sent Dave on LOA, and his younger brother came back." I think some people are just being nice, but most people say they didn't expect to see this kind of results this quickly.
That said, my weight too has slowed down quite a bit lately, but it's still coming off. I keep trying to remind myself that I didn't get this surgery to have other people "notice," but rather because I wanted to be healthier and live longer. I always make sure I get in more than 64 oz per day of water, and consume as much protein as humanly possible.
Jodell had her surgery almost 5 weeks ago, and she doesn't feel like people notice her weight loss yet (she's lost 30 pounds), yet when we went shopping for a few things this past weekend, she was pleasantly surprised how much her sizes had dropped.
