burping and hiccups?
Hey everyone.
I have survived surgery and have been home since saturday. Everyday I feel better and I am no longer on the heavy meds. Well, I take a 1/2 dose about once a day if I need board.
I have been taking in 1 or 2 shakes with added protein powder, almost a whole Isopure, and as much water as I can take, some chicken broth or jello.
The PROBLEM is I don't have much trouble with it going down. .. but a few seconds later I have small burps and now for the first time I have the hiccups! Am I consuming it too fast? I can't imagine getting in everything I need having to wait 15 minutes between sips. Should I be taking Prilosec every morning or tums or Gas X?
any ideas?

I wish I could answer your question, but I honestly don't know. It seems to me that since my surgery on March 21st, I am getting the hiccups and burp a lot more. It sounds like you are doing very well! I hope you have much success!
I also hope somone has a good answer to your question. You've got me curious now!
Good Luck,
Robin
My co-worker's brother had the surgery done a few years ago, and when visiting me a week or so ago, I started burping, she told me to get used to that, it doesn't go away!! I have only had one bought of hiccups so far, but seem to burp for about 15-20 minutes after I eat anything. I had my surgery on 3/12....I guess my answer for you is just get used to saying 'excuse me'!!!
Welcome Home.
I had surgery on March 19th. I don't take medicine for it because I don't have those problems.
HOWEVER, my stomach makes such loud obvious noises that the dog even ****s her ears!
I'm thinking of taking up the harmonica to drown out the noise and make it less conspicuous.
Take Care
