Trouble tolerating Crystal Light?

I don't know how you guys are doing with it, but I personally found I didn't LIKE or want anything in my water for the first 2 weeks postop... I actually COULD NOT drink a bottle of tea that I had mixed (the individual packets for a bottle of water), despite trying for 3 days... I wanted to "use it up" but then every time I sipped from it, I just couldn't make myself drink more.... I inevitably would put it down and go get another bottle of water. I spent that 2 weeks at my mom's house so I used bottle water... here at home I have filtered water through the fridge (so it's cold already) and so I don't do bottles... NOW I'm enjoying my Peach Tea, (pitcher in the fridge) and realize that I'm not keeping track of my water as well as I should, just filling a glass partially when I want some. So I guess it's back to buying bottles, just so I can measure right.

In a way it is kind of a blessing that you preferred plain old water in the beginning. I'm with you. I was always a big "Water Girl" and I'm happy to see that I still am. Just think...there's absolutely no artificial anything in it.(Well this month anyway.) My friend could never stand water and lived on Crystal Lite...so go figure. I understand that you might want a change. If it's not too much trouble, why don't you fill up your empty water bottles with your Peach Tea and keep that in the fridge. It will be easier to count. Just a thought. Diane

I'm with your on that,Kat. Crystal light is just too sweet to me - made me feel like I was going to get sick. Sugar free popsicles have the same effect. I am loving ice cold water right now. It tastes soooo good. Yesterday, I did find that I like the WalMart peach tea packets that you can dump in a 16 oz. bottle of water. I am going to try their little packets of sugar free apple cranberry drink for water bottle tonight. I think I do better with keeping track of my water with the bottles too. Since I like to keep them for when I am going somewhere, I bought a little screw top water bottle that has the oz. marked on the side so that I can use that in the house rather than the bottled water. I got it at linens n things, but they have them everywhere. Maybe that would work for you too! Good Luck, Robin

We have tried about 7 different flavors of crystal light, and have found we like some better than others. We have big mugs that measure the ounces on the side. They also have a big straw, which helps me get in more liquids. The advantage is that it is easy to tell how much we've actually drank. My mug is about 32 ounces, and so I know I need to drink at least 2 a day. Sometimes I use water, but I found for me the liquids go down easier with crystal light in a flavor I like. --Best of luck on the liquids --Dave 337/288/205
