Stall at 1.5 weeks post op???????
I am going through the same thing. I had surgery the 19th. I lost 17lbs the first week and a half. My doctor put me on 3 blended meals, 2 protein shakes and the ever popular 64oz of liquids. All of this to say that I wasn behind on protein so he moved me to the blended stage. I am NOT hungry anymore and feel great but am stuffed! The scales haven't moved since I started this.
I'm glad to know that I'm not alone in this!

I am so glad that I found your post. I stalled at the same time last week - the scale did not budge for 4 days - I do think I was in starvation mode because I was only eating about 300 calories a day. I have been working out around 2 hours per day for three years so I have lots of muscle and a pretty good heart. I am supposed to take in around 2600 calories at my activity level to maintain so 300 just wasn't cutting it. So when I added a piece or two of string cheese and a pudding to my diet - I started dropping almost a pound a day. I am also trying to eat something every three hours just to remind my body that I am not starving it - eventually it will realize that and go ahead and release the fat - well - that's what the experts are telling me anyway.
Good luck to you and keep in touch,
Chris
Sounds like a great plan. I am so glad it is working for you! I am wondering if I am eating enough. I average about 400-500 cal, 60-70g of protein, and about 75oz. water each day. I am eating three 2oz. meals and a 2 oz. snack every day like I am supposed too. Nut says it should be about 600 cal, but I'd have to eat a whole lot more to get that many cal. in each day. What do you think?
Keep me posted,
Robin
Hey, that's awesome. I am really happy for you!! I guess that extra walk did the trick for you. I added and extra mile yesterday. Then today I walked on my treadmill for an hour at 4mph (4 miles). I hope it helps me too, but I won't know 'til next week because I put my scale away!
Keep up the good woork,
Robin
Robin,
Sorry to jump into the conversation so late. Glad to hear you are again seeing some weight drops. I had about a week where I didn't drop any weight, then about a week ago it slowly started again. I just started an exercise regiment yesterday, and am hoping to kick into another weight loss run. For me, after seeing losses of 3-6 pounds per day in the first couple weeks, it was tough to see the scale barely move.
With the frustration of not losing, I decided to not step on the scales for a few days and I just focused on going by the food rules. I finally have lost a few more pounds.
One final note: 20 pounds lost is not chump change. My wife Jodell had her surgery on 3-27 and she is about at the 20 pound lost mark. Any other option that could help you drop 20 pounds in a few weeks would have people lining up along the street to sign up. The way I see it, if you are burning more calories than you eat, your body will eventually catch up.

Well, that little drop was short lived for some reason, but it is gone again now. I am only weighing once per week now and I have increased my exercise somewhat, but the trainer that works with my surgical group said I can't do too much until i am at least 4 weeks post op. That won't be until next week. So until then I'll keep following the program, and hopefully you'll be right that my body will catch up at some point. Congratulations to both you and your wife. Ya'll are doing awesome!
