Hi all! I hope this finds everyone doing well. I just have a question for everyone. I am 8 days out and I guess I was just expecting to not have to take pain meds at this point...or at least to be able to survive on tylenol...I am almost done with my script pain meds and am still in severe pain at times. It has grown to be farther in between times it is needed but the pain is still there. Anyone else feeling this way or anyone have advice on how to STOP feeling this way??? Rita

I feel the same at 12 days out. It's better when I walk more, but there's this one place in my lower left part of my abdomen that just stabs me several times a day.

For me it was the right side, just near the incisions... and it didn't stop hurting until right about 14-16 days out. I'm pain free now except where my waistband hits my incisions (gets a raw nerve feeling and stings like ehll). If you still need pain meds, notify your doc (ALWAYS do so for unrelieved pain). Kat

I still have some pain on my left side where most of my incisions are, and I'm also 12 days out. It is normal. Your body is still healing and adjusting to the changes. I hear it takes about 1.5-2 weeks to recover from the surgery, so just give yourself a little more time. Sherry

Hi Rita - I'm sorry you're still having pain. I agree with Tema, the more you walk, the less pain you will feel. Do you think it could be gas? Walking will help that too, but GasX may help as well. I took a couple the first two days home from the hospital and it helped. Don't forget, everyone heals differently. Have you had any previous surgeries which will help you to determine your healing time? I went off of my two C-Sections and Tubal, they were right on for me. If it unusual for you to take so long to recover, I think you should tell your doc that. I'm assuming that you don't have your drain any longer (if you do, that's probably it). The word that you use concerns me, "severe pain". I think if you pinpoint exactly where it is, you should talk to the doc and see what he/she says. If you're not running a fever, I think you just may need to move more... Good Luck and Keep us posted! Jill
