I had lap-band on March 2 2007. I lost weight at first. I get my first fill on April 5th. I went on a cruise last week and gained 6 pounds. I have been crying since. I regret the cruise so very much even though I had a blast. I can not have a gain its degrading. I let my self down. Any suggestions on how I can get back on track? I exercised daily on the ship. They had a walking track on the top and I used it 3 times daily.

I would say go back to the basics.... protein, protein, protein, water, water, water and keep up the exercise! Wendy

I know that everyone in my program who has the lap band does liquids for the first 6 weeks post-op. I would go back to high protein liquids and drink lots of water. Sherry

Oh sweety quit beating yourself up!!! You couldn't hardly not go on a cruise... I would have! Just pick yourself up and dust it off and get back on the wagon again. What's done is DONE... get over it and if they ask (the Dr) tell them you Had to go and now you're seriously gonna get started... You can do this. We are all behind you here! I had an RNY on March 9th this year.. no gains but I didn't have a cruise to go on either! Luv from Missouri! Pat B

I know this is a late reply but.....If you could have lost the weight, or even controlled your weight without the band you would have. So now you have your band and it takes a lot of time and several adjustments before you find your "sweet spot" where you will be able to loose the weight. Try not to be too afraid to talk to your doctor about it all...maybe they will be able to help and adjust your band so that it works better for you. The doc may be disapproving, but he can't take the surgery away from you as punishment for being "bad". Try to be as nice to yourself as you can.....this is a PROCESS not an instant cure.
