Hey March Forum-- I had my surgery on the 13th, and am already dropping serious weight daily. I am feeling great, and can't help but think that a big part of it is that I'm now 37 pounds lighter than I was less than a month ago.

You're awesome!! I lost 15 on the pre-surgery diet, and the rest since my surgery about 10 days ago. I wasn't kidding when I said this is the biggest loser club. Jodell is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday, and she is excited by my results. --Dave

All the best on your big day Tuesday! Don't doubt yourself at the last minute. Trust your good feelings earlier in the process. I know the decision has been good for me so far.

Great job on the weight loss! I know that you were not sure it was worth doing, but have you changed your mind? I am 4 days post-op and the scale went below my pre-op weight for the first time this morning. I haven't been in the 270s in a long time, and I am hoping not to be there for long. I can't wait to see the results for me. I get to start the fuller liquids on Monday and can't wait. Food is just around the corner! Best of luck to Jodell on Tuesday! Inspire each other! Sherry

Glad to hear you are doing well after your surgery!!! Honestly, I had expected to be just focusing on getting better this week, and didn't expect to see such dramatic results so quickly. My only explaination for the very rapid weight loss is that I may have higher than average muscle mass. Lost 3 pounds more today when I woke up. That brings me up to a grand total of 40 pounds lost, and officially puts me under the 300 pound mark!! 25 of those pounds are post-surgery, and 15 was on the pre-surgery diet. I know this weight loss has to slow down sometime soon, or I'd be at goal in a couple months. Thanks for your post-- Dave

Hi. It is not uncommon to go through a big loss. Some are slower than other, but I have known a couple of people who lost 140lbs in 4 months after surgery. Just be prepared for the huge adjustment. I also woke up the last two mornings with big losses of 4 pounds each day. I am being very strict with the diet which is helping. I hope to lsoe 30 lbs per month in the first few months but we'll have to see. I started at 313 in 11/13 with my surgery prep class and was 280 on the day of surgery - 33 just on my own and via the pre-op diet. We'll see where that leads. Keep up the good work and take care of yourself! Sherry

My pre-surgery diet was for 2 weeks, and I dropped my first 15 pounds. The 25 or so since my surgery has been alot easier to lose, but I think the pre-diet helped me alot with adjusting to the post surgery diet. 140 in 4 months is alot, but I guess it depends in part on each person's body, and their migration from healing to exercise. As for my weight loss, I was actually surprised to see so much loss so quickly. I had expected to be closer to a month out before seeing any noticable weight loss, but I can already see it noticably in my face and clothing.

Goodness Sakes! Dave, Sherry and Kat .. you all are just doing awesome! Keep it up! I am a bit worried about what to try and eat when after next week. I think I will follow Sherry's lead and just be very very strict! I can only hope I have that succes after next week! Congratulations to all 3 of you!
