I Can't Wait for March 27th
Well HI Amanda! Congratulations on your surgery date. What is a VSG? Is it what we call gastric bypass or the banding? I've been online today purchasing measuring cups, measuring spoons, and a brand new but small blender that is supposed to be excellent at pureeing (sp?) foods. Have you started to prepare? I feel like there's so much to do! I wish you all the best both pre and post up.

Hi Sadie
The VSG - Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy, is the op where they remove about 2/3 of your stomach (usually via keyhole surgery) leaving only a small pouch, therefore removing a lot of the room you would normally be able to fill!! Some also say it removes a lot of the hunger feelings too...I guess time will tell!
I am not as prepared as I should be...i will probably leave things to the last minute and then panic - at least it will take my mind of the impending surgery!!
I will start looking at getting organised for the surgery and also for home, as while I am away I leave a husband and twin daughters who will still need to eat!!
Good luck and best wishes to you too!!
Take Care,
Amanda
Good Afternoon everyone. I just wanted to say congratulations to Amanda I hope all goes well. And you are right, less time to be excited.
Sadie, you just gave me the best idea. I never thought of purchasing measuring spoons and a small blender. I am going to be right on it online. I was sitting here dreading the taste of my son's baby food of which I am sure he does not want to share. LOL
