FINNALLY!!!!!!!!!! It really felt like I was never gonna get this surgery to happen. So many "HOOPS" to jump through! Wow. I am ecstatic. Any body have or know what kinds of protien drinks are better than others? Has anyone tried the fruit flavored ones that advertize on this site? Any good? J. Anthony
Congrats Jay....
I've been told that trying things before surgery is not the best idea. Of course that was after I bought a few of the products and tried them.
Apparently your tastes may change dramatically. The Nutritionalist I have been seeing has suggested just getting a very bland Protein powder or drink. She said you can always make it sweeter, but it is tough to make it "blander" if you can't tolerate it.
Again...congrats on your date....right around the corner.
Dave
Congratulations on your date. As far as protien drinks go, if you ask 20 people you will probably get 20 different answers and like the previous poster (David, i believe) said, your tastes will probably change after surgery. There are places on the net(bariatriceating.com is one) that you can order samples of different kinds to try. Have also been told that GNC will take back something if you try it and don't like it as long as you have the receipt.
Please keep us updated on how yopu are doing, again congrats.

I swear by ISOPURE LIQUID PROTEIN drink. GNC sells it and it tastes just like cherry flavored kool-aid. Get the fruit puch it's called. I could'nt drink the thick shales they were like drinking chalk. I'm gonna add you as my friend..All the best to you! Let me know if you find anything better....Kathy
Congratulations on your date!!! My RNY is scheduled for the 13th.
I bought unflavored Unjury to add to puddings, etc. I also bought samples of a few different flavored protein drinks from unjury.com and bariatricadvantage.com. I haven't sampled them. I figure I'll just wait till I get back from the hospital. That way I won't be able to compare the taste.
Good luck with your surgery and recovery!
Sue
